The countdown is on 🐋 Less than a month until our Exclusive Whale Encounters return, and we're getting pretty excited! Over the next few weeks, we'll be sharing some of our favourite moments from previous seasons that highlight why Hervey Bay is famous for its whale encounters and why it earned the distinction of becoming the world's first Whale Heritage Site.
Moments like this are exactly why people travel from around the world to experience Hervey Bay's whales. On a perfect winter's day back in August 2019 this curious humpback spent time checking out everyone onboard before leaving us with a picture perfect rainblow 🐋🌈💨

Some very lucky guests and some very excited crew on our Dolphin Eco Adventure this morning as we saw our first whale for the season !!! While there has been a couple of random sightings already in the bay this is the first of the season for us 🤩🐋
Looking forward to the official 2026 whale season commencing on 11 July but in the meantime we hope to have more sightings like this in the lead up to the season !!!

A sensational Sunday (7/6/26) morning on the water for our Dolphin Eco Adventure 🐬 Not long after leaving the marina we encountered a mum and calf pod of Bottlenose Dolphins before later coming across another pod as we cruised the Great Sandy Straits.
On our way back to the marina we came across what appeared to be two Australian Humpback dolphins chasing a mum and calf Bottlenose dolphin pair. The Bottlenose were quick to disappear leaving us to spend some time with the Australian Humpback dolphins. Playful and full of energy they were the perfect finish to a beautiful morning on the water.

Two species of dolphins and a White-bellied Sea Eagle made for a beautiful Sunday (24/5/26) morning on the water. Our Dolphin Eco Adventure took us down beside Big Woody Island, where we encountered 5 Australian Humpback Dolphins before cruising north with stunning views of Little Woody Island along the way. As we passed Pelican Banks, a White-bellied Sea Eagle was spotted enjoying the banks all to itself; and on the journey back toward the marina, we were treated to a pod of 4 Bottlenose Dolphins - which included one of our well known locals Nicky 🐬
