One day gets you the highlights. Two days gets you the extra soundtrack; the waves crashing over Ch*****ne Pools, the quiet hush over K'gari Beach resort, the birdsong at Lake Wabby.

Same island, same guide, just double the time to stop rushing between stops and start listening to the place.

Come hear what K'gari (Fraser Island) sounds like when nobody's racing the clock.

Eli Creek, the kind of place that ends up on the bucket list for a reason.

Enter up the top, float down to the mouth, then walk back up and do it all over again.

Lucky this creek never stops running, we could stay here for days.

Lake McKenzie is what's called a perched lake, meaning it's not fed by any creek or spring at all, it's rainwater sitting in a bowl of white silica sand.

No streams flowing in means no sediment flows in, which is how it keeps it's iconic glass-clear blue-white colour.

This is a must-see on K'gari (Fraser Island), we stop here on both one and two day tours. Plus, our guides can tell you all about how it fits into the landscape.

This has got to be one of the most iconic views of K'gari (Fraser Island).

Front row on the coach means you see 75 Mile Beach unfold before anyone else does.

Nothing but sand and sky for the whole run, and it never stops being surreal no matter how many times we do the run.

Every stop on 75 Mile Beach is planned around what's actually worth seeing that day.

While you're soaking in the sights, your guide's watching the tide, the light and what's happening further up the beach. We like to make every stop worth it.

The Pinnacles are just about halfway up 75 Mile Beach - made of coloured sand, dozens of shades of red, orange and yellow stacked up by thousands of years of oxidising minerals leaching through the dunes, and no two sections look quite the same.

We slow right down here because photos genuinely don't do it justice. Come stand in front of it yourself.

There's a difference between seeing K'gari (Fraser Island) and actually understanding what you're looking at, and that's what our guides do.

Years on the island means they know every stop worth making, every detail worth sharing, and every moment that makes first-timers stop and stare.

See all of K'gari with someone who knows it better than anyone.

Lake Wabby's the one lake on K'gari that's actually shrinking: a massive sand blow keeps creeping in from one side, swallowing a bit more of it every year.

It's also one of the best swimming holes on the island, ringed by rainforest on the other three sides. Get there via a 2-day tour.
