What an incredible journey it’s been! ❄️🚂🚢

Our final day in the breathtaking College Fjord marks the end of an unforgettable adventure through Canada and Alaska — and already I’m dreaming about the next one.

Over the past couple of weeks we’ve experienced the very best of this spectacular part of the world, from the iconic Rocky Mountaineer rail journey through the Canadian Rockies to expedition cruising with HX Expeditions amongst towering glaciers, snow-capped mountains, incredible wildlife and remote coastal towns.

We’ve kayaked through icy waters, explored charming Alaskan communities, witnessed glaciers calving right before our eyes and taken in scenery that truly feels untouched by time.

A huge thank you to Rocky Mountaineer and HX Expeditions for delivering such an amazing experience from start to finish.

Canada & Alaska absolutely deserve a place on everyone’s bucket list — and I already can’t wait to return! 🇨🇦🇺🇸

More magical adventures aboard the incredible HX expedition ship as we made our way towards Whittier! ✨🚢

One of the highlights was visiting the beautiful town of Valdez, surrounded by towering snow-capped mountains and breathtaking scenery everywhere we looked. Then came an unforgettable experience in Icy Bay, heading out in the zodiacs right up close to the stunning satin-blue glaciers, surrounded by a bay full of floating ice. It was absolutely surreal being amongst such raw, untouched wilderness — one of those moments that gives you goosebumps and makes you realise just how powerful nature really is! ❄️🩵

Every day on this expedition felt bigger and more unforgettable than the last. Alaska, you are pure magic! 🏔️

Further north on our adventure and today’s experience was something special — sea kayaking through the incredible Alaskan wilderness. Paddling through icy waters surrounded by towering snow-capped mountains, glaciers and untouched scenery felt completely surreal. The silence, the fresh air and the scale of this place is impossible to describe… Alaska just keeps getting more breathtaking every single day. 🚣‍♀️❄️🏔️

The expedition has officially begun aboard HX Roald Amundsen and what an unbelievable start it has been! 🚢❄️🇺🇸

Our very first expedition day was absolutely breathtaking — sailing through pristine Alaskan wilderness surrounded by towering snow-capped mountains, dramatic waterfalls, untouched forests and scenery so surreal it barely looked real. Every moment on deck felt like stepping into a National Geographic documentary.

We then arrived into the remote communities of Klawock and Craig for our first port visits, where we were welcomed by locals for lunch and experienced authentic Alaskan hospitality firsthand. One minute we’re cruising through wild, rugged landscapes searching for wildlife, the next we’re immersed in local culture in these tiny coastal towns.

This is expedition cruising at its absolute finest… and we’re only just getting started! 🐋🦅

WOW… what an absolutely INCREDIBLE two days onboard the Rocky Mountaineer from Jasper to Kamloops and finishing in Vancouver! 🚂🇨🇦✨

This journey completely blew me away. Towering snow-capped mountains, turquoise lakes and rivers, rushing waterfalls, endless pine forests and even wildlife sightings right from our seats… every single second felt surreal.

Travelling through the heart of the Canadian Rockies in the glass-dome carriage was honestly one of the most breathtaking travel experiences! Add in amazing food, incredible service and views that just never stopped, and it was pure magic from start to finish.

Canada has officially stolen a piece of my heart ❤️

If you’re dreaming about Canada… put the Rocky Mountaineer at the VERY top of your bucket list. Trust me, photos don’t even come close to doing it justice! ✨

After 30 hours of travelling, I’ve finally arrived in beautiful Edmonton 🇨🇦✨

From there, I hit the road in my hire car and made my way to my first destination… Jasper! 🏔️

I checked in to the incredible Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge and wow… what a stunning property. Surrounded by breathtaking snow-capped mountains and picture-perfect scenery, it was the perfect place to unwind after such a long journey.

This afternoon, a few of us braved a glacial plunge followed by a sauna experience — freezing, exhilarating and definitely the wake-up call I needed after the flights! ❄️🔥

Tomorrow, the adventure continues as I board the iconic Rocky Mountaineer bound for Vancouver!

Important reminder….make sure your hard-earned money is going to an accredited travel business with the proper licences in place.

Recently, we’ve seen a rise in companies, particularly in Tasmania, operating without the necessary accreditation. It’s a risk not worth taking.

Over these past few days, cruising through the Rhine Gorge has been a beautiful highlight!

Starting in Rüdesheim, we visited Schloss Johannisberg for a winery tour. This place is seriously beautiful! A renowned Riesling estate recently ranked #1 in Europe and #2 in the world. The castle itself is absolutely stunning, set high above the vineyards with amazing views and the underground cellar was such a cool experience. Even experiencing a light snow here! ❄️🥶

Next stop was Cologne, home to the iconic Cologne Cathedral, the world’s largest twin towered church. The detail, the scale, the history… it is truly one of those landmarks that leaves a lasting impression.

And now we have arrived in Amsterdam for our final stop. This morning we cruised through the canals, which is such a relaxing way to take in the city, before heading out to Keukenhof Gardens in the afternoon. Known as the world’s largest spring flower gardens, it is only open for around 8 weeks each year, so I feel very lucky to experience it in bloom 🌷

This is exactly what makes river cruising so special and Avalon have made the entire experience feel completely seamless from start to finish. Every detail has been taken care of, allowing us to simply relax and enjoy these incredible destinations without a worry 🤍
