❄️ Good morning from beautiful nipaluna/Hobart! ❄️

There’s something truly magical about waking up to snow and looking out to views like these of kunanyi/Mount Wellington. We’re incredibly privileged to have this on our doorstep — a spectacular experience for locals and visitors alike.

Winter in lutruwita/Tasmania is something special. It’s a wonderful time to get out, explore, embrace the snow and enjoy the incredible landscapes our island has to offer.

But remember — Tassie’s weather can change quickly, and conditions can be challenging. If you’re heading up the mountain or out exploring, **always be prepared**. Check road conditions, keep an eye on TasALERT, dress appropriately and never underestimate the weather.

Some experiences stay with you long after they are over, and spending time on Country with Carleeta from Palawa Kipli was certainly one of them.

There was something special about slowing down, immersing ourselves in nature, and seeing this beautiful place through the stories, culture and knowledge that have existed here for tens of thousands of years.

From learning about Palawa culture and connection to Country to discovering native foods and their traditional uses, the experience offered a deeper appreciation for the landscapes we are so fortunate to call home.

For visitors to Tasmania, experiences like this offer an opportunity to connect with place, understand the rich cultural heritage of Lutruwita, and leave with a greater appreciation for the land beneath our feet.

A heartfelt thank you to Carleeta for sharing her knowledge, generosity and passion so openly. It was a privilege to spend time on Country and be part of such a meaningful experience.

When Tasmania's West Coast turns on a mid-winter spectacle like this, it's impossible to look away. Misty mornings, mirror-like rivers, ancient rainforest, rugged coastlines and cosy fires create the kind of escape that stays with you long after you've returned home.

• Scenic drive to Corinna
• Huon Pine Walk and evening at leisure

• Cruise the spectacular Pieman River aboard the Arcadia II

• Venture north via the Western Explorer to Arthur River
• Explore the Tarkine Drive, including Sumac Lookout, Julius River and Trowutta Arch
• Overnight at Corinna Wilderness Village

• Morning mindfulness listening to the rain before the journey back to Hobart
• Coffee and a bite at Aunty V's in Hamilton
• One last stop along the Derwent, soaking up Tasmania's magical winter reflections before arriving home

We’re so fortunate to have beautiful land that produces world-class food — from orchard fruit and fresh vegetables to seafood, wine and everything in between. Every meal tells a story of the people who grow it, harvest it and care for this place we call home.

Tassie really is a feast for the senses!

A huge congratulations to our incredible food producers, farmers, chefs, restaurants and all those who help showcase our produce and make this island one of the world’s great food destinations. From paddock to plate, coast to kitchen, your passion, care and creativity are what make Tasmanian food so extraordinary. Proud to see our little island recognised on the global stage.

We get asked this question pretty often - What do I do when the weather is not great?! Whilst we can certainly recommend museums and places to be indoors, we don't get torrential rain in Tasmania - so it's pretty nice to go for a leisurely walk around the city and take in the sights and even look out for our local wildlife whether it's birds like Turbo Chooks, fairy wrens and so many more. You can walk along the Hobart rivulet and find a platypus just soaking it all in, having a float and and being cheeky like this guy was today. Our conclusion: Tassie is great all year so come down for a visit and speak to our team if you have questions about your travel plans.
