One of our favourite places to go to disconnect in ❤ī¸

We had a beautiful weekend staying on Bruny Island, eating oysters, drinking wine and tuning out from the real world.

All made better by delivering us hot bread to our door every morning, and the beautiful Mikey who stopped by to visit us each day and join us on our walks 🐕 🍞

Here's just some of the many mouth-watering dishes we enjoyed in beautiful on the . Straight from the ocean to the plate (sorry fishies...we truly appreciate your sacrifice!) 🐠 🍔 🌮 đŸĨĨ

1. The most delicious fish curry with a view

2.Ruby red tuna with olives, tomato and veggies in a butter sauce from

3.Traditional Ita Mata dish made with raw bluefin tuna, chopped veggies and coconut cream from - an amazing local dish and a must try from anywhere you eat! (This one was particularly good)

4. Mahi mahi fish with coconut rice from

5. Sizzling parrot fish cooked with coconut cream and vegetables (a favourite!)

6. Fresh fish tacos with salsa from (simple but very tasty!)

7. A fish burger so impressive someone stopped the staff member en route to us to take a photo (from The Beach Hut)

8. Delicious Thai style noodles with prawns from the 'Noodles and Fried Rice' tent at the very popular night market

More beautiful postcards from Rarotonga in the Cook Islands 🏝ī¸.

We're usually the sort of travellers that love a fast pace and seeing as many sites as we can, but the best part of this trip was being able to relax enough to read some books and leisurely walk the beaches with the island dogs with no final destination in mind. We loved bar hopping some of the barefoot beach bars each afternoon, eating our weight in fish tacos/burgers/sandwiches and just lying in our beach hut admiring the spectacular view of the sea just metres away ❤ī¸

We also loved the simplicity of the local bus! The two options are clockwise or anticlockwise around the island and you can wave down the bus at any point along the road!

Island dogs 🌴🐕 Always there to happily es**rt you on a beach walk or run! These friendly and playful dogs have homes they can go to but spend their days free-roaming around, or chilling out on the beach. They're definitely a highlight of visiting Rarotonga ❤ī¸

Kyoto, one of the most beautiful and traditional places in Japan! We loved exploring peaceful gardens, temples that disappear into the mountains, and visiting nearby Nara Park and Himeji Castle as day trips. But the real highlight was walking around Gion at night with bright red lanterns and experiencing a tea ceremony with the most beautiful Geiko/Geisha! 🩷 👘 🏮 Get out early (before 7 am) to avoid the crowds around the beautiful old streets.

Visiting Hiroshima and the Peace Memorial Museum was a very sobering experience in Japan. It's now a vibrant, modern city and a must is to wander around the Peace Park and take a boat ride to visit to the beautiful nearby island of Miyajima ⛩ī¸ đŸĻŒ
