Day 2 - The Adventure Begins

The wheels finally started turning today as we set off on our first riding day in the Himalayas.

With perfect weather, big smiles, and plenty of excitement, the group got their first real taste of riding in India. From the organised chaos of Indian traffic to the constant symphony of horns, every kilometre brought something new to experience.

At every stop, the conversations were the same: “Did that really just happen?” and “I can’t believe how different this is!” 😄

After a day full of learning, adapting, and unforgettable moments, we left the busy roads behind and arrived in the peaceful village of Tingmosgang, where the mountains, silence, and hospitality reminded us why this region is so special.

Day 1 – Umling La Odyssey

The adventure begins in Leh.

Wandering through the vibrant streets of Leh, surrounded by colourful markets, friendly locals, and the towering presence of Leh Palace watching over the town, it’s hard not to feel excited about what’s ahead.

Over the coming days we’ll ride some of the highest roads on the planet, cross breathtaking mountain passes, visit ancient monasteries, and make our way to the mighty Umling La — one of the highest motorable roads in the world.

Born and raised in the breathtaking landscapes of Ladakh, Becky has adventure running through his veins. Growing up amongst the towering peaks and high mountain passes of the Himalayas, he developed a deep connection with the mountains, the culture, and the roads that many riders dream of exploring.

As our Operations Head in India, Becky plays a vital role in ensuring every Beyond Borders Moto Tours adventure runs smoothly from start to finish. From coordinating logistics to supporting riders on the road, his attention to detail and years of experience help create unforgettable journeys.

Whether he’s leading riders across the mighty Himalayas, exploring remote mountain trails, or sharing stories under a starlit sky, Becky brings local knowledge, genuine hospitality, and a passion for motorcycling that can’t be taught.
