One of Sydney’s most popular annual cultural highlights is Sculpture by the Sea. Now in its 30th year, the free exhibition features 100 cutting edge sculptures dotted along the stunning two kilometre Bondi to Tamarama coastal walk. Sculpture by the Sea is on until November 2, a must-see if you’re in Sydney during this time.

To stroll through the superb Queen Victoria Building is to take a stylish step back in time. At almost 130 years old, her ornate Romanesque style is elegant, opulent and a prime example of charming old-world Sydney architecture. Known to Sydneysiders as ‘the QVB’, it stands on George Street just opposite Sydney Town Hall, and is the perfect setting for some high-end shopping.

When you’re there, look up to the central dome and you’ll see the animated Great Australian Clock. It depicts 33 scenes of Australian history told from the perspectives of our Aboriginal people and European settlers. An Aboriginal hunter figure, representing the passage of time, continuously travels around the clock activating the scenes as he goes. It features over 130 hand-carved figurines, stands 10 metres tall, weighs four tonnes and sports a 23-carat gold-coated dome.

Now reopened after six years, the spectactular Pulpit Rock lookout is one of our favourite places in the Blue Mountains. With 360 degree views overlooking Grose Valley, it's nothing short of breathtaking. And only 90 minutes from Sydney.
