Planning a Wheatbelt road trip? 🚗🌾

Whether you’re exploring at your own pace or joining a guided cultural tour to learn more about the history and stories of this special place, there’s plenty to discover in the Wheatbelt 💙

We drove 680km return through York, Corrigin, and Hyden to see Wave Rock over a weekend. The 2.7 billion year old granite wave formation is worth the 8-hour round trip alone, but the historic towns, dog cemetery, and pink lake detour made it even better. Which one's on your list?

Makuru has arrived on Noongar Boodjar 💙🌧️

Makuru is the Noongar season of cold weather, rain and fertility, bringing the wettest and coldest time of the year across the southern half of the state.

After rain in the Wheatbelt, water is flowing around Hippo’s Yawn — a beautiful reminder of the seasonal changes happening across Country.

Michael and his granddaughter Mace attended Careers Expo Perth last week!
Katter Kich Gallery and Tours was part of the Tourism Western Australia stand.

Michael spent time speaking with students about what it takes to become a tour guide, sharing his knowledge and experience in the tourism industry.

It’s great to see the next generation exploring careers in tourism and learning about the opportunities it can offer.

Great stuff, Michael and Mace! 👏

Did you know? 🌿

Western Australian sandalwood (Santalum spicatum) is a slow-growing native tree found across much of southern Western Australia, including here on Katter Kich Country.

The sandalwood story is one of our oldest — Aboriginal people have used this resource for thousands of years, understanding both its healing properties and its value as a food source.

Today, WA sandalwood remains highly valued around the world for use in incense, perfumes, cosmetics and pharmaceutical products.

Behind the scenes while the gallery is closed 🌾

Long days on the tractor, watching the seasons shift and making the most of the conditions while they’re just right for sowing this year’s crop.

It won’t be long until wildflower season is here! 🌼

The Wheatbelt starts to come alive with colour - everlastings, roadside blooms, and orchids tucked away if you know where to look.

A few snaps from last year’s season, always such a beautiful time of year out on Katter Kich Country.
