The architecture in Japan is incredible. Their transport system is truly next level.

While we’ve been here, I’ve been checking out a few construction sites and can honestly say the Japanese are masters of working within confined spaces. Seeing how they’ve fitted a crane into the footprint of a high-rise being constructed between two existing towers is amazing. They’ve literally built the structure around it.

The formwork techniques are fascinating too. I’d love to see the engineering plans for high-rise piers and foundations in earthquake zones.
Then there’s the contrast between ultra-modern construction and the traditional craftsmanship of temples and historic homes, many of which were built using intricate joinery techniques with little to no nails or metal fixings.
It’s all incredibly inspiring. 🏯🏗️🇯🇵

Such a pleasure working with Tim Glorious and Al Wheeler to transform the venue frontage.
And I'm so pleased to help out a local Ipswich business that has single handedly kept the originals music scene and underground arts alive in Ipswich as well as providing a diverse and safe space for all people.

Learning carving/sculpting techniques from right back to the basics from Balinese masters,
Cutting a slab of timber with an axe, then carving with sharpened bits of flat bar, the Balinese dont need fancy tools to create amazing work. This is my humble first effort, but seeing and learning how they do such amazing art opens so many doors for Skill Set Buildings artistic scope.
