A great cruise option on the East Alligator

Alligator Rivers is the name of an area in an Arnhem Land region of the Northern Territory of Australia, containing three rivers, the East, West, and South Alligator Rivers. It is regarded as one of the richest biological regions in Australia, with part of the region in the Kakadu National Park.

This region boasts spectacular views from the sky and the ground, as well as World Heritage rock art, ample croc 🐊 spotting opportunities and amazing sunsets all year round. The West Alligator (pictured), South Alligator, East Alligator and Wildman Rivers maintain a flow in their lowest sections in the dry season.

All other streams - including the main tributaries, Cooper, Magela, Nourlangie, Jim Jim and Barramundi Creeks - cease to flow for the major part of their length in the last few months of most Dry seasons. Permanent water is restricted to springs, waterholes and billabongs.
