Paronella park is worth a visit.

Cost was $174 for our family of 6, which included access to paronella park, a night tour and the caravan site at the Paddock for one night. The paddock is located a short 200m walk from Paronella Park, and right behind the Mena Creek hotel. Nice park with new and clean amenities. Water and power hook up. Washing machines and dryers on site, which accept card.

The staff at Parinella Park were all wonderful and very friendly.

In 1929 Jose' Paronella starred building all the structures in the park with very little help from others. Apart from the house, all the structures including the castle were built from reinforced concrete, which was then covered with plaster made from clay and concrete which was all applied by hand.

The night tour was a sound and lights tour. The castle looked pretty covered in lights as you listened to a few songs playing.

Stayed a night at the tropical travellers park in Mareeba. Had water and power hookup up. They only had 1 site left which was big enough for us to squeeze 2 vans on for the night. Gave the Ram and Lotus a scrub to get rid of some of the red dirt. The Mareeba car wash has a big ladder which was helpful to clean the roof etc.

Went to coffee works and bought some chocolates and choc liquor 😋 great place to stop. Awesome hot chocolate.

We really wanted to stay at Punsand bay but unfortunately our van was too long. They don't accept vans over 22ft. With our van being 25.3ft, they said we wouldn't fit amongst the trees 😞

We still stopped in there to have some cocktails and lunch on our way to the tip. We were hoping to have a pizza, but they were only doing them for dinner that day. The southern Fried chicken Burger was amazing though. Will definitely come back here next time. Beautiful place with clean amenities, great food, a pool, and correlation bar 👍

Crossing on the Jardine River ferry.

Of course there was an issue with the ferry just as we pulled up. A truck had just gone across and snapped the chains that hold the ramp up. This was at 4pm. It took them 2 hours to repair it. We were expecting to have to spend the night on the road and wait for the first ferry across in the morning. Fortunately the team worked some overtime and got everyone across that night. We ended up getting over the river just before 6.30pm. We then had a 45 minute drive to loyalty beach.

Twin falls and Eliot falls.

Located nearly 10km down the start of the North Tele track. Twin falls was better for the little kids to swim in, but Eliot falls was cool. Both located a short walk from each other.

We stayed at Bramwell tourist park for 3 nights. $35 a night. No power or water hook up, but you can fill your tanks on site. Has amenities and laundry. Every night they put on a show and do a dinner. We paid $180 for 2a and 3c for dinner and show. Had a great 2 course meal. Was full at the end.

We stationed out of here to do south tele track and also had a rest day.

We took a short drive to Bramwell Junction roadhouse and had lunch.

A night spent at Morton telegraph station. Powered and unpowered sites available. We got an unpowered and was $70 for 2a + 3c per night. They sell pies at the office, but no other food options. Nice flat grassed sites.

Took a look through the Morton museum. Learnt a little about the Steve Irwin wildlife reserve. Got to see the old barge that vehicles had to use to cross over the wenlock River.

There is a 2 and a half km walk you can do. We just did the short option and walked down to the river and back, as the kids weren't too keen for walking. No swimming in the wenlock as there are crocs. We didn't see any.

Stayed at Weipa camping ground. Kids enjoyed swimming in the pool. Watched an epic sunset as we ate dinner at the cafe Barramunchies. Its only open for dinner. Burger was ok, but nothing too special.
The campground was $70 a night for unpowered site for 2a + 3c. We did have water hookup.

It is a short walk to the shops. There's a bakery there to grab some fresh bread.

There was no adblue at either of the servos, but they did sell it in a 10L container.

We went and checked out Range Front Light, which is on a point righr on the water.

We stayed at Archer river roadhouse for a night. The kids enjoyed splashing in the river under the new bridge opposite the roadhouse.

There is fuel and food at the roadhouse, plus amenities. No power or water hookup.

Stopped at Musgrave Roadhouse for lunch, and the Sexchange hotel in Coen for a beverage, on our way to Archer River.
