Late summer early autumn photo dump.
Again I apologise for the lack of posting as we have been extremely busy with guiding and other work and of course life.
The fishing/guiding has been kind depending on location choice. Though getting tougher as we approach the end of the season. The cool overnight temps have definitely changed fish behaviour in the rivers though at present there is some great opportunities arising to the angler willing to put in the work. I’d like to think some of our lakes will come into own for a month or so with some late season mayfly hatches before the snow dumps.
so it’s not just slogging it out we’ll just have to adapt!
I’ll have availability’s during april on flowing water till the first sign of running fish and then we will shift focus to our winter lakes fishing.

First timer Nathan has hit the ground running with his introduction to fly fishing.
I think due to the choice of accommodation helped alot. Nathan and his lovely partner stayed at the beautiful Moonbah Huts and had a practical casting lesson on the private dam where his skills were fast tracked by Brett and myself. Starting off with the basics then as the fish fired up was able to pick flies up of the water and delivering them to a different target with minimal false casting. Nath was rewarded with a lovely mature brown on a geehi beetle.

We progressed to sight casting to wild alpine brownies and Nathan fished extremely well. Followed instructions to a tee and was rewarded with 3 respectable browns on dry fly and other opportunities that didn’t stick. (Pun intended)

We fished off with some stream craft lessons on all water picking off lovley small stream browns that were very entertaining in the crystal clear waters of the snowy catchment.

Again well done Nathan it was a pleasure showing you around our alpine playground.

Been a bit slack with the client posting so I thought I better put something up.
We have been hammered this year fast trekking clients the past month. What’s been great about the work is we have been guiding a lot of family parties. Nothings better than sharing success and learning with a loved one.

Ben came out with us early this week. The weather forecast may have let us down but we still found fish. Ben fished well and was rewarded with takes and learned a bit about composure presentation and bank choice.
We wish Ben the best of luck over in Tassie!

Great walking a stream with Eric. Quite testing fishing actually with testing weather conditions and when it settled various mayfly popping. Each fish was keyed into various species meaning you needed to adjust to each opportunity. Eric was a bit unfortunate a few hooks didn’t hold but! We walked away with an awesome brown trout to the net at around 3kg!
Well done mate you were awesome company!

James up from victoria spent a half day with Rod Allen on a stream before that big cold front came over.
The boys got good results even takes off the top and some quality brown trout to the net.
Awesome stuff james i hope the rest of your trip treats you well!
