We’re closing the door on another season in the skies 🚁

A big thank you to everyone who flew with us — it’s been a pleasure sharing the incredible views of the Gippsland Lakes with you. Seeing your reactions and hearing your experiences is what makes it all worthwhile.

As we head into winter, we’ll be taking a short break while we plan our next chapter and what’s ahead for Lakes Entrance Helicopters.

The Entrance showcases a stunning blend of colour and movement. Darker freshwater from Cunningham Arm and North Arm meets the bright turquoise of the open ocean, flowing seaward on an outbound tide.

This natural contrast isn’t just beautiful — it’s dynamic. Freshwater and saltwater don’t mix instantly, often taking many hours to fully blend, creating these remarkable patterns that constantly shift with the tides. A perfect reminder that Lakes Entrance is always in motion. 🌊💙

The Mitchell River empties into the Gippsland Lakes via the Silt Jetties - the highlight of our most popular Scenic Flight. These naturally formed silt banks run for over six kilometres, making them one of the longest in the world.

Scenic Flights 3, 4, and 5 include the Silt Jetties.

The Gippsland Lakes are so packed with photo-worthy landmarks that we can fit six of them in our shortest scenic flight! Flight 1 offers stunning aerial views of Rigby's, Fraser, and Flannagan Island, Metung, the Ninety Mile Beach, and The Entrance, all in approximately 12 minutes.
