Just a little update: Kalumburu community members voted last week to apply for an exemption to the federal governments' Remote Aboriginal Communities Directions for closure due to COVID so that you all can come visit safely.
So, stay tuned: this isn't the all clear yet, BUT it's a HUGE step closer! Please be patient while they work out the best way to do this and still keep our community safe. We should know in a few weeks time.🤞🤞🏾🤞🏿

the new caretaker at McGowans Sunset Beach has kindly agreed today to take over the role as volunteer admins of this page.
I’m leaving Kalumburu tomorrow and will no longer be an admin on here.

Final week for the 'Our Land: Our Place' exhibition at Council House, Perth. Don’t miss this collaborative exhibition between Artitja Fine Art Gallery and City of Perth featuring Indigenous artworks from across Western Australia including Kira Kiro Artists and Waringarri Aboriginal Arts, expressing the importance of country through imagery and storytelling. Exhibition closes Friday 27th September 2019.

To seal or not to seal...that is the question 🙄

The iconic Gibb River Road is slowly being sealed, bit by bit. How do you feel about this? We travelled to Home Valley Station recently and we drove on the freshly sealed portion of road, which is east of the Home Valley Station turn-off. Here are some photos.
