Well what a week it has been!
After uncovering our amazing 1 inch thick tongue and groove Tassie Oak flooring that dates back to the late 1880's we have been also blessed to find https://www.facebook.com/ubeautfloorsanding
As new 'blow in's' we have been so thankful to find Vaughan. He was responsive to our initial enquiry. He booked us in a reasonable timeframe, His attention to detail was excellent and we couldn't be happier with the final result.
Before we can welcome you to our spaces, we are giving the old lady - Eagles View/Revell's House the restorative respect she needs with our tread gently approach to achieving sustainably, hygienic living and wellness spaces.
We continue unravelling little bits of history as we immerse ourself in to the community and the space we have become custodians of.
We believe these timber floors that run throughout the original part of the house would have been a revolutionary product at the time. The first steam powered side matchers that created these 'machined' tongue and groove boards were commissioned post 1885 which is when these floors would have been ordered. We have preserved the history of H.T. Russell @& Sons who produced these lovely timbers and are so in awe of some of the full length boards that run through the spaces we have uncovered. We can only imagine the trees they came from and the time it took to fell, cure and create these beautiful specimens.
