Heads up everyone in the livestock industry.

The news on the weekend was devastating for us all. So we must look out for each other.
If you haven’t heard from a mate for a few days, call up and say g’day.
I know that we are all busy putting a crop in, but that is their plan. They hope we will be too busy to care.
They sold us down the river for preference vote in an inner Sydney seat. Let show them that that is just wrong.
The live export trade must not stop.
As a lamb marking contractor, I believe I will be asked to cut the throats of merino wether lambs this year. I hope not, but what else will we do with them when the live export goes.
Heads up and continue the the fight for the bush.

G’day all.
We are looking for 3 motivated people to work with us on our lamb marking run.
The job is for a week to start with, but could end up 2 months work for the right person.
This job is not for the faint hearted. You will get covered in sheep s**t and some blood. It is also a physical job outside.

FAQ Why can't chilled meat replace live export?

Providing chilled meat will not replace live exports. The supply of sheep and chilled or frozen meat often caters to distinct markets that are not interchangeable. Australian sheep are in demand due to logistical difficulties in delivering and storing meat (in some markets), cultural preferences and its price. Strong demand remains from the Middle East for live Australian animals and when we can’t meet this demand, it is not filled by Australian boxed meat but by live animals from Sudan, Somalia, Eastern Europe and Asia – countries that do not share Australia’s commitment to animal welfare.
