#3 of the things we can’t wait to do again soon.... eat fresh oysters of the north coast rocks!
🐠
The abundance of sea life in the north coast water is hard to fathom. We absolutely can not wait to indulge in a fresh finger mark snapper on the fire and some oysters straight off the rocks while we’re waiting.
🐢
Understandably a lot of folk have been feeling cutoff and disconnected over this time. In the Kimberley we are somewhat used to this phenomenon. Most years many areas of the Kimberley become isolated from the land flooding in the wet season, meaning food trucks can’t reach us, our post has always taken at least double the standard shipping time because we are so remote.. yet when you’re here you find you feel incredibly connected; connected to the land, the people, the spirit of the country.. We have everything we need to survive up here!
🐊
Although restrictions are easing further in WA over the next month, the Kimberley and Indigenous communities currently remain closed to outside guests under the Commonwealth Bio Security Act.
🦀
Until these travel restrictions are lifted from the area we are wishing Wunambal people a safe and restful time on country.
👣
Big thanks to for getting the good snaps on tour!

#4 of the things we are most looking forward to... visiting our favourite of the oldest art galleries in Australia.

Pictured here are the Gwion Gwion figures at a beautiful rock art site accessible from the Kimberley Coastal Camp.

We could sit here all day looking at these enchanting paintings and honestly I think we may just do that next time we can. We sometimes forget to take in the enormity of these sites as guides, rather giving our guests the space and time to enjoy, but by jove we will be looking forward to doing a bit of the sitting and taking in all the wonders on offer to us on Wunambal Gaambera country ourselves when the time is right.

Although restrictions are easing within most states over the next week, the Kimberley and Indigenous communities remain closed to outside guests under the Commonwealth Bio Security Act. Until these travel restrictions are lifted from the area we are wishing Wunambal people a safe and restful time on country.

#5 of the things we are most looking forward to... listening to Bec Sampi sing in Cathedral Gorge again!

This is not #5 because it's no greater than #1... to be honest we are just so lucky that we have so many natural wonders in The Kimberley, Australia and we had to put them in some kind of order. 😅

A quick up date on us: We are still here and working away in the background getting Kingfisher Tours ready for the best 2021 season we could possibly imagine.
CoVID-19 has sure shaken things up a bit and the lessons we are taking away from it we hope will be mirrored in the products we deliver going forward.

One hurdle we are jumping right now is how to deliver single use plastic free still. You've seen it at your local coffee shop right? You can't get a coffee in your keep cup anymore for hygiene reasons. We get it. It's necessary. It's a bummer that for a little while yet we may not all be able to eat olives out of the same bowl.

At Kingfisher we are looking at biodegradable packaging solutions for our food because there is no way we are going to compromise on gorgeous picnic lunches or single use plastic!

We are curious to hear what lessons you are taking away from this and how it will change your business or at home practices going forward, have you got any great eco friendly company suggestions all of us can check out?

Imagine being camped up here for a week or two?
Situated in one of the most isolated and remote places on Earth, the Kimberley Coastline needs to be seen to believe. This Island just off the mainland is in Admiralty Gulf between Kalumburu and Mitchell Falls.
It was a surreal feeling flying this day with the world going into lockdown. It truly made me realize why I chose to live up here in the Kimberley.
When things get back to normal I really encourage you to come visit Kimberley Region and book a flight with the guys at Kingfisher Tours in The Kimberley Region, WA

Alright team, here we go!
Working out doesn’t have to be a chore so we’ve made it into a little game for you (and us 😅)
1. Tick the box for each iconic adventure you’ve completed.
2. Take note/write down the accompanying hiit exercises for each adventure you’ve been on. This is your workout round!
3. Put on your fave workout music (Rn we are listening to a lot of Dua Lipa, what a queen!)
4. If possible start with a jog around the block, backyard, down the driveway, on the spot for 1-3mins to get the blood flowing
5. Round 1!
dont forget: 1 round is better than none!
Nb. Take 30-90 second rests between rounds if doing multiple
6. When you’re finished your rounds go for a short wind down walk or jog or stretch. Be kind to your body!!!

We’d love to know what you think, hear where you’ve been and how hard your workout was!

Tag us in your workout before, during or after posts, if this pandemic is teaching us anything it’s the importance of community and staying connected!
