See another side of ‘ancient’ in the Kimberley and experience magnificent wilderness through the eyes of Miriuwung people. Luridgii Tours is owned and operated by Ted Hall, a respected Miriuwung man from Mandangala in North East Kimberly. Ted carries on the stories of his mother’s sacred country, including the renowned Jaliwang (Barramundi) Dreaming of how the Barramundi travelled across the country to lay her eggs at the site of Argyle Diamond Mine. His family are the traditional people of the Mandangala/Tiltuwam land that consists of Gidja, Miriuwung and Mulngin tribal clans.

Mandangala Dawang.

This is the Ragged ranges which is an integral part of the Jaliwang Barramundi dreaming Dreamtime story.

The Barramundi dreaming story is the most significant Dreamtime creation story for the East Kimberley.

It starts at Darram(Bandicoot bar) near the diversion dam in Goonanoodum(Kununurra) and finishes at Argyle Diamond mine where the Barramundi left it’s scales(diamonds)

This is hands down the best story I’ve had the privilege of hearing from Miriwoong man Ted Hall tours, who runs cultural tours where you can follow the Barramundi through his country.
