Base and I are huge believers that you can make a living doing something you love. We also believe to our core that tourism can bring about positive change for our planet. So while we love showcasing Binjareb Country to our guests, we have been directed to a new adventure with the positions as the 2025 Wardens for the Broome Bird Observatory. We are running the discovery centre, accomodation, and guided tours and courses! Extremely excited to be living at a global shorebird hotspot and getting to know Roebuck Bay and Yawuru country better. Sadly we won’t be running for 2025. Do come up and visit us in Broome! Have a wonderful 2025 and do get out there and explore your local environment around you. Tread lightly and leave places better than you found them. All the best Jamie and Base

Would you like to see these world record holding Bar Tailed Godwits? This species hold the record for the longest documented non-stop flight by any animal. It was set by a juvenile bar-tailed godwit in October 2022 that flew 13560 km non stop over 11 days from Alaska to Tassie. 🤯 These individuals maybe didn’t fly as far but they are truly incredible and you can see them in our local Ramsar Wetlands in Mandurah with - limited dates available get in touch via msg or email to book a tour!

On our nocturnal tour last night we met Mr.Western Banjo and he seemed just as happy about the rain as us. We saw 4 Critically Endangered Western Ringtail Possums, a Quenda and heard the screeches of 2 Brushtails. A lovely night among friends!
