Because there are some things that apparently aren't very "high vibe" to talk about.

Like spiritual manipulation.

Yep.

It exists.

And sometimes it comes wearing white linen, carrying a crystal and talking very confidently about your "highest timeline." 🤷‍♀️😂

1️⃣ "YOU NEED ME TO DEVELOP YOUR GIFTS."

Really?

Because if your psychic ability is a genuine part of you, I'm pretty sure you don't need to sign a lifetime subscription to someone's spiritual coaching program.

A good teacher can help you develop your awareness.

They can teach you techniques.

They can give you feedback.

But they don't own your gifts.

And if the underlying message is:

"You can't do this without me…"

That's dependency, darling.

Not development.

2️⃣ "DON'T QUESTION WHAT I'M TELLING YOU."

Oh, absolutely bloody not.

Question everything.

Including me.

Including yourself.

Being spiritual doesn't mean turning your brain off.

Ahhh… the spiritual trump card.

Because apparently Spirit has appointed them as your personal middleman.

Now, I absolutely believe people can receive intuitive or spiritual information.

But there's a HUGE difference between:

"I'm sensing something around this situation. Does that resonate?"

and

"Spirit says you MUST do this."

One invites you to use your own discernment.

The other can shut it down.

Never surrender your decision-making to someone else's interpretation of Spirit.

Translation:

"I don't like what you're saying."

Sometimes you're not "low vibration."

Sometimes you're pi**ed off.

Do they?

But ultimately…

You are responsible for your life.

Your choices.

Your boundaries.

Your relationships.

Your healing.

You become afraid to trust yourself.

Read that again.

I've got absolutely nothing against spiritual teachers.

I've had teachers.

I've learned from others.

I've made mistakes.

I've believed things that I no longer believe.

I've changed.

I've questioned.

I've grown.

And that's exactly the point.

A genuine mentor should be able to survive your growth.

They shouldn't need you to remain the version of yourself who first walked through their door.

They should actually be bloody delighted when you become confident enough to stand beside them rather than beneath them.

Because the best teachers don't say:

"Follow me."

They say:

"I'll show you the tools. Now go and discover what is true for YOU."

That's empowerment.

That's sovereignty.

That's spiritual maturity.

And here's a little challenge for anyone reading this:

Think about the spiritual teachers, mentors, healers or psychics you've encountered.

Ask yourself:

✨ Do they respect boundaries?

✨ Do they acknowledge that they can be wrong?

Well…

Two weeks of Solar Eclipse → Lunar Eclipse energy and honestly…

Who the bloody hell gave the universe permission to rummage through our emotional underwear drawer?! 🤣

Because eclipse season doesn't exactly knock politely on the door.

It barges in.

Turns the lights on.

Opens the cupboards.

And says…

“Right. Let's have a look at what you've been avoiding.” 👀

And suddenly…

People are behaving differently.

Relationships are showing their cracks.

Old s**t is bubbling back up.

Plans are changing.

Emotions are bigger than usual.

Things you thought you'd moved past are tapping you on the shoulder saying,

“Remember me?” 😳

And you’re standing there thinking…

“Actually, no. I bloody well don't want to remember you!” 😂

But here's the uncomfortable bit…

Sometimes the eclipse isn't creating the problem.

It's revealing the problem that was already there.

Ouch.

The Solar Eclipse asks:

Because there's a big difference between holding on and being loyal to your own suffering.

Maybe you've discovered that your boundaries weren't actually boundaries…

They were suggestions. 😂

Maybe you've realised you've been waiting for someone else to give you permission to live your own life.

They just don't like them.

And that's their problem.

Not yours.

Perhaps you've realised that the version of you who survived the last chapter doesn't necessarily need to run the next one.

✨️Welcome to a new edition to the Midlife Midwife musings! ✨️

🎊 FRANKLY FRIDAY 🎊

"Autism Is Not an Excuse for Being an Ar****le"

I’m going to say something that may be uncomfortable…

Having a diagnosis doesn’t give anyone a free pass to treat other people badly.

Yes, autism can come with genuine challenges. Communication, sensory overwhelm, emotional regulation, social cues and navigating relationships can be incredibly difficult. And people experience autism in very different ways.

But there’s an important distinction between explaining behaviour and excusing behaviour.

We ALL have strengths and challenges in life.

Some of us have more obstacles to overcome than others. Some of us carry trauma, grief, anxiety, neurodivergence, physical challenges or experiences that other people may never understand.

But regardless of what we carry, we still have some responsibility for how we treat the people around us.

If I hurt someone, saying “That’s just who I am” doesn't magically undo the hurt.

If I speak disrespectfully to someone, blame them, manipulate them, belittle them or repeatedly cross their boundaries, my diagnosis doesn't make that behaviour acceptable.

A diagnosis can help explain WHY someone struggles.
It can help identify what support they need.
It can help us develop better ways of communicating.

But it shouldn't become a weapon that shuts down accountability.

There is a huge difference between:

“I genuinely struggle with this because I’m autistic. I’m sorry I hurt you. How can we handle this differently next time?”

and:

“I’m autistic. You just have to put up with my behaviour.”

One demonstrates self-awareness and a willingness to grow.

The other demands that everyone else carry the consequences.

And perhaps this is the part we don't talk about enough:

Compassion and accountability can exist at the same time.

We can understand someone's challenges without accepting harmful behaviour.

We can accommodate genuine needs without abandoning our own boundaries.

We can have empathy without making ourselves responsible for someone else's behaviour.

And yes…

Sometimes being an ar****le is simply being an ar****le.

Not every s**tty behaviour needs a diagnosis attached to it.

We are all human.
We are all imperfect.
We all have s**t we're working through.

But we're also responsible for what we do with it.

Your challenges may explain your behaviour.
They don't automatically excuse it.

And that applies to every single one of us. ❤️

🌕✨ **THE PISCES LUNAR ECLIPSE — WHEN THE SOUL SAYS “LET IT GO”** ✨🌕

There are moments when life asks us to **stop pushing, stop fixing and stop trying to control the outcome.**

This Friday, we experience a **Full Moon and partial Lunar Eclipse in Pisces**, at around 5° Pisces, opposite the Sun in Virgo. This is the second eclipse of August, following the powerful **Total Solar Eclipse in Leo on 12 August**.

And I see these two eclipses as having a beautiful conversation with each other.

☀️ **12 August — Solar Eclipse in Leo:**
*What wants to be born?*
*Where am I being called to step forward?*
*Who am I becoming?*

🌕 **28 August — Lunar Eclipse in Pisces:**
*What must I release to become that person?*
*What am I still carrying that no longer belongs to me?*
*Where do I need to surrender rather than struggle?*

The Solar Eclipse opened a door.

This Lunar Eclipse asks us to **clear the doorway.**

Pisces is the final sign of the zodiac — the place of endings, surrender, compassion, intuition, dreams and spiritual completion.

And perhaps that's why you may find yourself feeling more emotional than usual.

Old memories may surface.
People may come to mind.
Something you thought you'd moved beyond may suddenly ask to be felt.

You may realise that something you've been trying desperately to make work simply isn't meant to continue in the same way.

And here's the important part:

**Release doesn't always mean losing something.**

Sometimes release means letting go of the *version of yourself* who believed you needed it.

We can create structure without becoming rigid.

We can care for others without abandoning ourselves.

WHEN THE SUN DISAPPEARS, YOUR INNER LIGHT BEGINS TO RISE.

There are moments in life when the Universe seems to whisper…

“You cannot take the old version of yourself into the new chapter.”

The Solar Eclipse on 12th August occurs in Leo — the sign of courage, heart, authenticity, creativity, visibility and self-expression.

And this one feels especially personal for me.

So astrologically, this eclipse is shining a very bright light directly onto my sense of identity, who I am becoming, how I show up in the world and whether I'm willing to be truly SEEN.
