There are very few places in Australia that affect me the way takayna / Tarkine does.
I've been walking these rainforests for many years and every time I return, I slow down...Not because I have to....Because this place asks you to.
I find myself noticing the fungi quietly emerging from the forest floor, the giant tree ferns stretching high above the track, the ancient rainforest that seems to soften every sound around you.
You simply walk through it, quietly, leaving only footprints and taking away an appreciation for just how remarkable these wild places really are.
People often ask me what makes takayna / Tarkine so special and I'm not sure words can ever do it justice, It's something you need to experience and something you'll carry long after you've leave.
Every time I guide here, I hope our guests leave with that same feeling.
A deeper respect for wilderness, a renewed appreciation for nature and an understanding of why these places deserve to be protected for generations to come.
