Lismore and Nimbin Tourism, as a unit of Lismore City Council (‘Council’), aims to provide online interactive platforms that are welcoming for all participants. To facilitate that environment Council moderates those platforms in accordance with the ‘’Conditions of Use’ outlined below. Council encourages equitable access to our interactive sites and welcomes a diverse range of vie

ws. Council expects all participants to treat each other with respect and courtesy. Council reserves the right not to publish, or to delete, comments at its discretion. Whilst Council welcomes a diverse range of views to our online platforms, Council does not endorse the views of external participants who submit comments or user generated content. Council’s ‘Conditions of Use’ are as follows:
• Participants are expected to treat other people using the website, including Council staff, with respect and courtesy.
• Comments that are defamatory, discriminatory, infringe copyright or are otherwise unlawful will not be posted or will be deleted.
• Comments that are considered to be prejudicial, off-topic, inflammatory, repetitive, vexatious, misleading, offensive or otherwise inappropriate will not be posted or will be deleted.
• To ensure Council sites are welcoming for everybody, Council reserves the right to reject comments or posts that attempt to dominate a conversation or the site content.
• Comments that constitute spam, such as commercial interests, solicitations or advertisements may not be posted or may be deleted at the Council’s discretion.
• Contributors should be aware that comments or other submissions can remain online indefinitely and may be found through search engines or online archives.
• Contributors must not impersonate another living person or registered user.
• Children under the age of 16 should gain parental consent before contributing to Council’s interactive sites.
• Contributors who repeatedly breach the Conditions of Use may by blocked from the site at the discretion of Council. In addition to Council’s ’Conditions of Use’, contributors to Council’s online interactive sites are also subject to Council’s Internet Usage Procedure; the Code of Conduct; the Customer Compliments and Complaints procedure; the Restriction of Service procedure; and the Privacy Act. Council also adheres to the policies and guidelines of the social media platforms it uses to host interactive platforms. For example, Council would like to engage in as many conversations as is practicable however comments made to these platforms will not be treated as formal enquiries or complaints and may not be responded to. Council reserves the right to review and alter these Conditions of Use at any time.
