π’ TRAVEL DEBATES
Are balcony cabins really worth the extra money?
It's probably one of the most common cabin questions I get asked.
My answer?
It depends completely on the cruise.
For something like Alaska or the Norwegian Fjords, where the scenery is a huge part of the experience, I'd personally put much more value on having that private balcony.
Morning coffee while sailing through a fjord, watching glaciers from your cabin, or simply opening the door and getting some fresh air... that's pretty hard to beat.
But on a really port-heavy itinerary where you're off the ship most days?
That's where I think an Oceanview can be a really smart choice.
You still get the natural light and a view, but the money you save could go towards experiences ashore, dining, drinks... or even the next holiday.
So for me, it's never simply:
"Balcony is better."
It's about whether the balcony is worth it on that particular cruise.
π What camp are you in?
π Balcony every time?
πͺ Oceanview and spend the extra money elsewhere?
Or does it completely depend on where you're cruising?
