Glenn Mckimmin Gallery

Glenn Mckimmin Gallery Hi, I’m Glenn McKimmin—a professional Australian landscape photographer, Fuji X Photographer, and tour leader.

I guide fellow photographers worldwide, capturing breathtaking destinations and helping them create timeless images. Glenn Mckimmin is a professional landscape photographer from Australia with 15 years of diverse industry experience. He loves what he does for a living and generously helps others discover the life-changing benefits of photography. Glenn and his camera have captured awe-inspiring im

ages across a spectrum of countries including New Zealand, Slovenia, Bhutan, Canada, Ireland, England, Turkey, Syria, Norway, Austria, France, Italy, Mongolia, Kamchatka, India, Sri Lanka, UAE and the USA. When he’s not covered in colour at India’s Holi festival, Glenn loves to shoot local – Australian coastal and alpine scenes underpin his portfolio. The accomplishments extend beyond a stunning suite of images – Glenn manages several pioneering businesses within the photographic industry, all geared toward appreciating the dynamic art of photography. He’s Director of Created for Life, a specialist printing and framing lab. He’s also Founding Director of Fotoworkshops, an Aussie-based luxury photo tour company he launched in 2008. To date, Glenn has arranged savvy experts to lead photo tours to more than 25 colourful, pristine or wild countries across the globe. In 2018, Glenn founded Aperture Australia, the country’s first, (and the hemisphere’s largest) immersive photography conference. He believes there are lessons to be learnt from every level of experience – so, as Director, he’s placing amateur talent and award-winning photographers in one room to boost the industry as a whole. As a proud Fuji X Ambassador and Chromajet Ambassador, Glenn is focused on building a colourful legacy. His actions illustrate a commitment to sharing knowledge of the craft with others, rather than simply collecting trophies for the shelf. Once a passionate rugby player planning to work in PR, Glenn has now established a trademark photographic style shaped by his time training with industry legends. One of the greatest influencers was his uncle – panoramic landscape photographer Ken Duncan. After many hours waiting in the wilderness, Ken taught Glenn the grand reward of persistence: when everyone else has given up, you stay put to capture that golden shot! Originally from Manly, Sydney, Glenn now calls the beautiful Central Coast home. Based in the beachside suburb of Terrigal, he finds daily inspiration on his doorstep… plus many opportunities to play soccer with his awesome son, Xavier! But his work is also motivated by a family tragedy – losing his sister to suicide. To fathom a world without Cherie, Glenn learnt to feel his way day by day from behind the lens. Today, Glenn considers his finest work a tribute to her beauty and the unimaginable power of the medium to create a connection where it may otherwise be lost. As a lifelong supporter of the natural world, Glenn wants his photographs to highlight a special, forgotten innocence, with the ultimate hope of encouraging us to take better care of the breathtaking world right under our feet – because you genuinely never know when it might be ripped from beneath you.

A glimpse of life.

Sometimes I have to pinch myself and remember just how fortunate I am to do what I do.

Over the years, photography has taken me to places I could never have imagined. I’ve watched sunrises in remote corners of the world, shared meals with complete strangers, photographed incredible wildlife, and witnessed cultures and traditions that have stayed with me long after I returned home.

What travel has taught me is that life doesn’t wait.

There will always be reasons to put things off. More work to do. More responsibilities. More excuses.

But every day we wake up is another opportunity to choose adventure, to learn something new, to meet someone different, to step outside our comfort zone and experience the world a little more deeply.

The photographs are wonderful, but they’re not really what I remember most.

It’s the people.
The conversations.
The laughter.
The unexpected moments.

Those are the things that stay with you.

Every day is a chance to change your life.

Don’t wait too long to start living it.

Sri Lanka is one of the most visually rewarding and diverse destinations I’ve ever had the privilege to photograph.

Over this journey we’ll move from bustling local markets and ancient cultural sites to misty tea plantations, wild elephants, remote coastlines and the iconic stilt fishermen that have become part of the country’s visual identity.

What makes Sri Lanka so special isn’t just the wildlife or landscapes it’s the atmosphere. Every corner of the country feels alive with colour, texture, story and human connection.

This expedition has been designed for photographers and travellers wanting more than just a sightseeing trip. Small group sizes, carefully selected locations and a relaxed pace allow us to genuinely experience the country while creating meaningful images along the way.

If Sri Lanka has ever been on your list, this is a very special opportunity to experience it properly.

A small number of places remain.

INDIA BIG CATS 2027 — NOW LIVE

This isn’t just a wildlife tour.

It’s 17 days photographing some of the most incredible wildlife and cultural experiences on the planet — from Bengal tigers in the jungles of Bandhavgarh and Kanha, to leopards in Jawai, Asiatic lions in Gir, and the chaos and colour of Holi Festival in Rajasthan.

What makes this trip really special though is the way it’s been designed.

We’re covering multiple regions across India properly, with SIX internal flights included throughout the journey to maximise our time in the field and reduce exhausting overland travel wherever possible.

This is a small-group photography experience built around:
• Better light
• More time in the field
• Incredible wildlife encounters
• Culture and human moments
• Comfortable premium accommodation
• Real photographic opportunities — not rushed tourism

Over the years I’ve learned the best images rarely come from rushing.

They come from patience, time, flexibility, and being in the right place when something special unfolds naturally.

That’s exactly what this journey is about.

March 2027.
17 Days.
Tigers, leopards, lions, Holi, ancient forts, wild landscapes, and one hell of an adventure.

Already getting strong interest and deposits coming through for this one.

Full itinerary and information available now via the link in bio or through my website.

Home Before the World Wakes

Sometimes you don’t realise how lucky you are to call a place home until mornings like this.

Soft light, mist rolling across the ocean, a few surfers chasing waves, and the coastline slowly waking up as the sun comes up over Wamberal.

I spend a lot of my life chasing incredible places around the world, but moments like this remind me there’s something pretty special right here in our own backyard.

Grateful for where we live. 🌊

NEW TOUR LAUNCH — INDIA 2027

India is one of those places that just stays with you.

I’ve spent a lot of time working on this one, and it’s probably one of the most complete trips I’ve put together.

This isn’t just about seeing wildlife, it’s about doing it properly.

We’ll be tracking tigers through the jungles of Bandhavgarh and Kanha, working the light in real conditions… not rushing in and out like most trips do.

From there, we head into Jawai for leopards moving through those incredible granite landscapes, and then finish in Gir with the last remaining Asiatic lions.

Three big cat species. One journey.

But it’s not just wildlife.

We move through some incredible parts of India, old cities, forts, and then right into the chaos and colour of Holi. It’s raw, unpredictable, and honestly one of the best things you’ll ever photograph.

And one of the biggest things with this trip, I’ve built it to move properly across India.

All internal flights are included, so instead of losing days in transit, we’re spending that time where it matters… out in the field shooting.

Small group, plenty of time on location, and run the way I like to do things flexible, real, and focused on getting the shot.

If India’s been on your list, this is the one.

Two moments. Same place. Different years.

There’s something about Mongolia that just stays with you.

I’ve been back there a number of times now, and every visit feels just as raw and real as the first. These two images were taken on different trips, years apart, yet they carry the same feeling quiet, powerful, and deeply authentic.

The eagle hunters don’t perform for you. This isn’t a staged experience. It’s a way of life that’s been passed down through generations, and when you’re there, you’re simply stepping into their world for a moment.

It’s these kinds of experiences that draw me back exploring cultures that still exist beyond the noise of modern life, where things are slower, more connected, and incredibly humbling to witness.

This is what I try to build into these tours. Not just great images, but real moments. Honest ones.

And Mongolia… it delivers that every single time.

If you’ve ever wanted to capture images like this, there’s a link in my bio.

This Isn’t My Normal Photography Post

Once a year, I make a post that has nothing to do with photography.

This is that post.

Today is about my sister, Cherie, who took her own life 16 years ago after carrying trauma that began when she was just a child.

And every year I ask myself the same question…

How much has really changed?

We live in a country that can find money, time and outrage for just about everything. Politics. Fuel. Headlines. Causes. Trends.

But when it comes to protecting children, educating families, helping people spot predators, supporting survivors, and handing down sentences that reflect the damage done… we are still failing.

We are still far too quiet.

The ripple effect of child abuse runs through families for generations. It shows up in addiction, broken relationships, mental illness, su***de, and pain that never fully leaves.

I’ve seen it firsthand.

This post isn’t about politics.
It isn’t about division.
It’s about children.

Our most valuable asset in this country is not money, resources or governments.

It’s our kids.

And they deserve far better than what we’re giving them.

So today, I remember my sister.

And I speak because too many never get the chance to.

If this makes people uncomfortable, good.

Maybe discomfort is where change starts

PEACE
Sometimes the best thing you can do is stop.
Pull the car over.
Get out.
Breathe.

This was one of those moments.
A stitched pano from the edge of a frozen fjord in Lofoten — that perfect light, the stillness, a pop of red holding its ground in a sea of white and blue.

This is what peace looks like.
Not the kind you chase.
The kind that finds you when you finally slow down enough to notice.
