The team has been busy. PILPS is ensuring all of Pine Islet Lighthouse Mackay 's story is preserved to meet best museum practice. 10 of our members gave up their Saturday to start the cataloguing and archiving of the amazing documents and artefacts collected and gifted to date.

Bill & Kaye Hill have donated some significant documents generated within their business. The supply boat Saramoa was a critical link to the smooth running of Pine Islet and the Light.
I am only displaying an example for this post.
Why are these documents a significant part of our Museum Collection? Not only are we showcasing history of Pine Islet Lighthouse but of Mackay and wider Australia.
1. Telegrams are no longer in use. Most people under 50 would not know of or have experienced telegrams.
2. Australian Airline TAA is no longer operating.
3. Australian Airline Ansett is no longer operating
4. Maguires Hotel Mackay is an iconic landmark in the CBD.
