ASSISTED SCHOOL TRANSPORT DRIVER
The business has school runs providing transport for disabled children to and from special schools. Some runs are in sedans some in minibuses and wheelchair vehicles. A normal car license is sufficient. Run payment varies depending on klm's and vehicle type. Wages are in line with Fairwork Australia guidelines.
You will need to have or be prepared to apply for, a " working with children" clearance from Service Nsw, first aid certificate HLTAID011
You need a certified copy of your driving record from Service Nsw

A Medical is required within the application.
You need to live in Lake Macquarie, Newcastle, or the Lower Hunter Valley.
The job takes about 2 hours morning and afternoon. No work during school holidays.
The company supplies the vehicle which remains with you at your home. You are paid as an employee .

We have work available starting once the application is processed by the Assisted School Travel department. Relief /casual to begin with in most scenarios.

Charlestown Hire Cars always looking for casual relief school drivers. Suitable for semi retired looking to do a little bit of work . Runs are 1-2 hrs morning and afternoon. We drive special needs students to and from school. We have sedan , people movers and minibus and wheelchair runs. We own the vehicles you would be an employee NOT a contractor so all wages superannuation are paid by us. The runs are in the Newcastle and Lake Macquarie area.
Applicant must have a current Working with children and will need a copy of driving record from Service NSW. Full licence is a must.

We have a number of runs for the Department of Education taking special needs children to and from school.Some of the runs require a carer, to assist the student on and off the bus and supervise the children so they don't distract the driver.

The bus or sedan would collect you from your home and return you there after the morning and afternoon run. Pay rates vary based on the time it takes to complete the run. You will be an employee of the department of education. Applicants would need a "working with children" clearance from service NSW, you would also need to be computer literate.

We require a licensed motor mechanic to work in our onsite workshop. All equipment other than hand tools are onsite - Hoist, tyre machine, workbenches, hydraulic press, etc.

Duties include –

Regular log book servicing of all the company fleet (approximately 70 vehicles)

Fitting tyres as required

Replacing brake parts as required

Replacing faulty parts e.g. Water pumps, alternators, mufflers, batteries.



Arrange repairs that need to be farmed out e.g.

Air conditioning, Automatic transmission repairs, Upholstery repairs, panel shop repairs, Wheelchair lift repairs, fitting of tow bars.

The ideal applicant would need to be very reliable, able to work unsupervised, and prepared to keep the workplace clean and tidy.
