When hunting, giant cuttlefish are master ambush predators. They use their eight arms and two specialized tentacles to catch prey like small fish and crustaceans. Their hunting involves a precise three-phase strategy: first, they fixate on their target (attention phase), then slowly approach while extending their tentacles (positioning phase), and finally shoot out their tentacles at lightning speed to seize prey (seizure phase).
