Humpback whales don’t eat at all during their migration! 😮

These ocean giants bulk up on krill and small fish in Antarctica, then survive on fat reserves as they travel thousands of kilometres up Australia’s east coast to breed and give birth in warmer waters. Talk about meal prepping! 💪

🐋 FUN FACT FRIDAY: Humpback whales use a technique called bubble net feeding to catch their prey. They create a ring of bubbles to trap and concentrate fish, then swim upward to gulp them down. 💨

For the protection of the whales, NSW rules stop you taking your boat too close to the whales. Luckily, many of our guests are lucky enough that the whales themselves choose to come right up close to show off!
