It is an unfortunate reality of life that all good things must one day come to an end.
I started this small tour company ten years ago with the aim of providing visitors to Margaret River with experiences and memories that they would hopefully never forget. If each person left with an appreciation of this special part of the world then I would drive home from work a happy man. I always pictured myself running the tours well into my 60’s and I often wondered whether my young daughters would one day become involved in its operations.
Unfortunately the end has come a lot sooner than I anticipated. I had a bad spinal injury in my early 20’s whilst surfing and the ramifications from it have slowly caught up with me. After a typically busy summer my lower back finally decided that it had reached its limit.
I have really appreciated the support from the local Margaret River community over the years and would like to say a massive thank-you to Brown Hill Estate, The Berry Farm and Redgate Winery for being such key components of my tours. Thank-you also to Adinfern Estate, Arlewood Estate, Bettenays, M.R Venison Farm, Olio Bello and Temper Temper Chocolate who all did a fantastic job of supporting my tours in the early days.
My dog Mojo was often the biggest highlight for many of my guests. I loved taking him to work with me and watching him make people smile and laugh. If Mojo knew how to drive the Troopy then I would have been out of a job years ago! He has also had his own injury battles recently so it seems fitting that we have both fallen apart together.
Finally, a big thank you to my amazing wife Salla for continually supporting me. You are the glue that holds our family together and I look forward to spending weekends with you and going away on family trips in the summer from now on.
It was a lot of fun while it lasted and I will always cherish the special memories!
Thanks, Paul.
