💙🐴 IT’S OFFICIAL – THE BREAKAWAY CHARITY RIDE WILL CONTINUE! 🐴💙
After 25 years, the future of our much-loved Breakaway Charity Ride was uncertain, with many of the wonderful volunteers who have given their time to keep this event going over the years stepping away.
We are so excited to finally announce that Breakaway Horse Riders Club Mackay will be continuing the Charity Ride in 2027! 💙
A new Charity Ride Sub-Committee has been formed, planning is well underway, and we can’t wait to carry this special 25-year tradition into its next chapter.

We are also incredibly proud to announce that our 2027 ride will be raising awareness and funds to support local children living with Type 1 diabetes and their families.
Funds raised will go directly to Type1 Foundation, with the goal of helping bring more support, activities and events right here to Mackay.
Currently, many of our local children and families need to travel to Townsville or Brisbane to access these opportunities and connect with other Type 1 families. We would love to help change that and create more opportunities for our local kids and families closer to home. 💙
The Breakaway Charity Ride and Community Event at Dows Creek will both return in 2027, with Breakaway Horse Riders Club Mackay coordinating the full event. 🐴💙
We’re excited to keep this much-loved day going and have plenty more to share as planning progresses! 👀
