Get your dancing shoes on for this week's Free Music in the Park. "McBlues are five experienced musicians exploring the jazz and blues roots of traditional Celtic Music and Songs, seriously?"
McBlues best described as jazzed up, bluesy, traditional Celtic music. Formed as a ‘one off’ for the Marysville Jazz and Blues Festival in 2016 but too good not to continue playing! They are regular performers at music festivals and concerts around their home state of Victoria.

These five multi-instrumentalists Dianne Gaylard, Jean McConnachie, Rita Seethaller, Peter Cockroft and David Alleway bring over 200 years of musical experience to the stage. They play a highly entertaining mix of ballads, jigs and reels on bagpipes, mandolin, fiddles, harp, harmonica, Caribbean steel pan and guitar. A truly unique band playing the “tartan blues”like you’ve never heard them before.

Visitors are now welcome in our area, but please understand that there are still some road closures. Check on the Victraffic site, or ask at the local Information Centres.

If you’re driving in areas affected by recent fire activity, avoid using back roads unless you’re a local.

Sticking to major arterials is the safest option when driving through areas previously impacted by fire.

Emergency services and road crews are working to reopen roads as quickly and as safely as possible. Roads can only be reopened when it is safe to do so. If a road remains closed, it is because it has not been declared safe.

If you’re travelling through fire impacted areas, be sure to drive to the conditions, and follow recommended detour routes and direction from traffic management.

Before you hit the road, check VicTraffic for road closures and traffic conditions and check emergency.vic.gov.au/respond or the VicEmergency app for the latest emergency information.

Music in the Park Thursday 22 Jan 6 - 8pm Free

Rambling man Grim Fawkner is no stranger to stages and streets across the globe and at home.
Whether he’s touring in the UK & EU, or busking around AUS & NZ, Grim’s lyrical style and inimitable guitar technique have seen him amass a solid following of listeners and creators alike.
Recent nods to his skills as a songwriter and a performer include being voted "Melbourne's Best Busker" by The Herald Sun & popular vote, an endorsement by Cole Clark guitars, and a national tour support with country music stalwart Kasey Chambers.
He has performed on stages at Byron Bay Bluesfest, Queenscliff Music Festival, Great Southern Blues festival, Dunedin Folk Festival (NZ), Cygnet Folk Festival, Convoi de Fete (NDL), to name a few, as well as played shows with Marcus King Band (USA), The Waifs, Clare Bowditch, and many more.

My name is Tahlee Christie. I have always loved music, it is a huge part of my life and has been since before I could remember. I started learning piano when I entered high school and fell in love with it. Around 3 years ago I finally found the courage to sing out loud to others, I was very nervous at the start, but now I live and breathe it. Wherever I go you’ll find me singing or humming a little tune to myself. 2 years ago I took up guitar and taught myself the basics. I love country music and that is the genre that I enjoy singing. I have written a few songs and have some in the making at the moment.
My biggest idol is definitely Taylor Swift, she inspires me to keep going no matter what life throws at me.
