After watching Tom Watson win The Open that year the tour proceeded on to play Carnoustie, St Andrews, Royal Troon, Turnberry, Royal Birkdale & Royal Lytham & St Annes. In the following years Australian Golf Schools has continued to take clients to many exciting and exotic places specialising in annual trips to Italy following Tom Linskey’s successful period there as national coach in the 1980’s. Ranked by Golf Digest magazine as the 100th best golf course in the world, Olgiata is Italy’s premier golf club. Built in the 1960’s by C.K. Cotton & Frank Pennink this tree lined park land classic has hosted the Italian Open on two occasions with Tony Jacklin & Ian Poulter taking out the title in 1973 & 2002 respectively. Jim Fazio was commissioned to do an extensive renovation in 2010 in order to get Olgiata ready for Rome’s 2024 Olympic & 2022 Ryder Cup bids. Missing out on both bids the members of Olgiata have been left with golf course that stacks up to any championship course in the world. My father Tom Linskey resided inside Olgiata’s gated residential community whilst living in Rome in the early 1980’s. 🌲 🇮🇹 🏌️‍♂️🌲

Built in 1904 by the English upper class for their amusement while escaping British winters, nothing much has changed. Built beside the via Appia Antica, the world’s first highway, and Roman Aqueducts it has a charm unmatched as you play golf whilst in eye sight of structures built 2000 years ago. Tom Linskey played his first European Tour event here in 1972 and has been in love with this golf course ever since. 🇮🇹🏌️‍♂️🌲
