Melbourne at night from the Yarra 🌙

Picture this: the city is lighting up around you, the Yarra is dark and glassy, and then — out of nowhere — the Crown fire show erupts right above the waterline in front of you. All of it from the seat of a waterbike, with the whole CBD as your backdrop.

No engine noise. No exhaust fumes. Just the sound of the water, good company, and a version of Melbourne most locals have never actually seen.

Autumn evenings on the Yarra hit different. The summer crowds are gone, the air is crisp, and the city looks completely different once the lights come on. Dusk on the river is genuinely one of Melbourne’s most underrated experiences — and it’s right here, whenever you’re ready.

This is what a waterbike Melbourne session looks like after the sun goes down. One of those nights you’ll be talking about for a while.

Melbourne at dusk hits different from the water.

Most people watch this city light up from the riverbank. These two? They’re living it.

There’s something about that golden hour on the Yarra — the city glowing, the bridge shimmering blue, the water so still you can see the whole skyline beneath you. It’s the kind of evening that reminds you why Melbourne is genuinely one of the world’s great cities.

And the best seat in the house? Right here.

Our Twilight Waterbike Tour is perfect for couples, friends, or anyone who wants to experience Melbourne from a completely different angle. No engine noise. No exhaust. Just the sound of the water and the city coming alive around you.

These two are returning guests — because once isn’t enough.

Not a bad office view, hey?

While everyone else was stuck in meetings and staring at spreadsheets, this was happening on the Yarra.

Sun on the water. CBD skyline behind you. Legs pedalling. Zero engine noise — just you, the breeze, and Melbourne looking absolutely stunning from a angle most people never see.

That’s the thing about a waterbike session. It’s not just exercise. It’s a full reset. An hour where your inbox doesn’t exist and the only decision you need to make is which direction to pedal next.

And the best part? You could be out here tomorrow.

Friday arvo on the Yarra hits different. Trust us. 🚲

A day on the water we won’t forget. 🐧💙

A few days ago we shared the moment a little penguin crashed our tour with the students and staff from Heatherwood School. The clip said a lot — but it didn’t say everything.

Here’s the fuller picture.

Heatherwood is a secondary school for young people with mild intellectual disabilities. Their students arrived at Sorrento ready for an adventure, and what unfolded over the next few hours was one of those days that reminds you what this is really all about.

First-timers finding their sea legs. Nervous grins turning into full-on laughter. Students who weren’t sure they could, realising they absolutely could.

And then, of course, a certain uninvited penguin who clearly had nowhere better to be.

This is what engine-free waterbike touring makes possible — not just wildlife encounters, but genuine moments of access, confidence, and joy for everyone on the water.

To the students and staff at Heatherwood: thank you for sharing your day with us. You were absolutely brilliant.

Melbourne autumn days don’t get better than this... 🍂

Picture this: glassy Yarra water, zero clouds, golden light bouncing off the CBD skyline — and you, pedalling through it all on a waterbike.

No engine noise. No exhaust fumes. Just the sound of the water, good company, and one of those rare Melbourne days that makes you feel like the whole city is yours.

Autumn is genuinely the best time to be out on the Yarra. The summer crowds have gone, the air is crisp without being cold, and the light is absolutely magic for the better part of the day. 🌤️

And here’s the thing — this isn’t just sightseeing. You’re moving your body, breathing fresh air, and ticking off a Melbourne experience most locals haven’t even tried yet.

Your next arvo adventure is one tap away 👉 Book through the link in our bio.

Melbourne looks different from out here.

Most people see this city from a rooftop bar or a tram window. But there’s a perspective that almost nobody gets — right in the middle of the Yarra, with the skyline ahead and nothing but calm water beneath you.

No engine. No noise. Just you, the pedals, and one of the most iconic backdrops in Australia.

Autumn on the Yarra is something else. The crowds have thinned, the light is golden, and the river feels like it’s finally yours. You’ll glide past riverboats and under bridges while the city buzzes on without you — and honestly, that contrast is half the magic. 🍂

This is what a proper Melbourne arvo looks like for those who know.

The Yarra at golden hour hits different in autumn…
Brisbane family. Melbourne escape. And a twilight waterbike tour that turned a weekend trip into the highlight of their holiday.

Picture this: the city skyline glowing warm behind you, the river calm and glassy, and the whole family pedalling together through one of Melbourne’s most iconic waterways — no engine, no fuss, just pure experience.

This is exactly what autumn on the Yarra was made for. The crowds have thinned, the light is impossibly golden, and the water is still beautifully warm. Families are discovering that this shoulder season is actually the best time to visit — and we couldn’t agree more. 🍂

The best part? Our waterbikes are completely engine-free, so you’re gliding through the city in near silence. No fumes, no noise — just the sound of the water and the kids’ laughter echoing off the riverbanks. That’s an experience you simply can’t replicate any other way.

If a weekend trip to Melbourne is on the cards, this is the kind of memory that makes the drive worth it.

He wasn’t on the guest list. He came anyway. 🐧

We were mid-tour with the incredible students and staff from Heatherwood School when a little penguin decided to join the group.

No engine means no noise. And no noise means moments like this actually happen.

Watching these students — some nervous at the start, all of them beaming by the end — was already everything. Then nature went and made it unforgettable.

This is Sorrento on a waterbike. And we wouldn’t trade it for anything.
