📢 FAMILY VISA CAPS CONFIRMED FOR 2025–26
The Australian Government has released Migration Instrument LIN 26/042, confirming the annual visa grant allocations for selected Family Stream visas for the 2025–26 financial year.
🔹 Contributory Parent Visas: 6,800 places
🔹 Parent Visas: 1,700 places
🔹 Other Family Visas: 500 places
📌 Key takeaway:
The allocations remain unchanged from the previous financial year, indicating continued high demand and ongoing processing pressures across family migration categories.
Affected visa categories include:
✅ Parent Visa (Subclass 103)
✅ Aged Parent Visa (Subclass 804)
✅ Contributory Parent Visas (Subclass 143, 864, 173 & 884)
✅ Remaining Relative, Carer and Aged Dependent Relative visas
The annual capping mechanism has been in place for more than 20 years and is intended to support orderly and equitable processing where demand exceeds available places.
For families considering parent migration pathways, early planning and understanding expected processing times remain critical.
