Mr Tulk Cafè, State Library of Victoria, Melbourne. Named after Augustus Tulk, the first librarian of the SLV, this was one of Melbourne's iconic cafes. Yesterday, it closed down at the library after its lease was not renewed for presumably corporate reasons. Michael Togias and his team have been good friends to their many regular guests, including all of us at MELTours - Walking Tours of Melbourne. The food, the coffee and the ambience at the library - we will miss all that. Mr Tulk is relocating to a location nearby and we wish Michael well with his future plans.

Collins Arch, Melbourne, Victoria. Nicknamed the 'Pants' or 'Pantscraper' for an obvious reason, this landmark building was completed in 2020 and comprises of luxury apartments, a hotel, offices and restaurants. Campbell Arcade, Melbourne, Victoria. Completed in 1955, one year before Melbourne hosted the Olympic Games, this vibrant Art Deco underground pedestrian passageway was full of quirky and interesting shops. All that stopped in April 2022, when it was closed as part of construction for the Metro Tunnel project. Now it has just reopened, gleaming and fresh and awaiting its next phase.

Old Stock Exchange Building (built 1888-1891), Melbourne, Victoria. Now indelibly linked with the ANZ Gothic Bank, this historic building, designed by William Pitt, was home to city's stock exchange at a time when Melbourne was the financial centre of the colony. It is lavish and flamboyant, much like its architect.
