Roads update!
The water is dropping!

The road to the north leading into Birdsville from Bedourie is open to all traffic with a dirt road bypass in place around Lake Machattie. Drive with caution.

The road between Windorah and Birdsville has opened this morning restricted to 4wd high clearance vehicles. Drive with extreme caution.

Its been a long time coming with these road closures due to flooding and we are so excited for you all to experience what our shire and the entire channel country / Lake Eyre region has to offer after these 2 epic flooding events.

We are still awaiting feedback on the Birdsville Track to the south but access north and east is a great start.

Please remember to always drive safe, keep the speed down and drive to the conditions!
