FAQ ABOUT OUR SEAT BASES

DO OUR SEATS SWIVEL?
Yes, they do swivel… just not like an office chair.
They’re not designed to spin freely while you’re driving. Picture doing 110km down the freeway while rotating in circles. Not ideal.
To use the swivel function, you’ll need to:
Get off the seat
Unlock the swivel mechanism, (these lock in a 45* intervals)
Manually rotate the seat to face the rear of the bus
Lock it back into position
Most people use the swivel feature when they’re parked, so the seat can turn around and become part of the dining or living area. Which will gain valuable space inside your motorhome.
Safe, practical, and no surprise spinning.

2. CAN I USE ANY SEAT ON OUR BASES?
No.
Our bases are designed specifically for captain’s chairs. They do not fit the factory Toyota Coaster seats.
If you’re sourcing your own seats, the seat rails must be 390mm apart to be compatible.
You will need to consult an engineer, if any changes to mr coasters configuration are made.


3. WILL THEY FIT IN MY 2005 COASTER BUS?
Yes, they will fit a 2005 Toyota Coaster. These are designed to fit 1993-2017.
However, if you plan to use the swivel function, the engine lid will need to be lifted to allow the seat to rotate.
Some customers have had their engineer slightly adjust the height of the spacers during installation to give a bit more clearance to make the swivel work without moving engine cover this does not affect the ADR

5. ARE THE SEATS HIGHER THAN THE ORIGINAL SEATS?
No, they are not higher than the original seats.

6. DO THEY STILL NEED TO BE TAKEN TO AN ENGINEER TO GET CHECKED OFF?
Yes.
The bases are already ADR approved and come with all the relevant ADR compliance paperwork.
However, once installed, they still need to be inspected and signed off by an engineer to confirm the installation has been completed correctly.

7. WILL THEY FIT KIA CARNIVAL SEATS?
No.
They are not designed to fit Kia Carnival seats.
They are designed to suit seats with 390mm rail spacing only.

Barbara and Robbie took over MR COASTER in 2017 after purchasing the business from its original owners. At the time, Robbie was driving trucks and Barbara was working as a receptionist . Like many, they were searching for something that would allow them to stay closer to home, enjoy more normal hours, and build a future they could grow together. That search led them to MR COASTER.

What started as a change in lifestyle soon became a passion.

9 years on, MR COASTER has grown beyond just a bus wrecking business. Barbara and Robbie expanded into supplying Mitsubishi Rosa bus parts, opening the door to supporting even more customers across Australia. Today, the business proudly services both Toyota Coaster and Mitsubishi Rosa buses, offering parts and solutions that keep fleets and vehicles on the road.

Still operating as a close-knit husband and wife team, MR COASTER is supported by three dedicated employees who help keep things running smoothly behind the scenes.

From humble beginnings to a growing national parts supplier, the journey has always stayed the same at heart, honest service, practical solutions, and people who genuinely care about getting you what you need.
