🌿 New Zealand has so much to offer! 🇳🇿 This weekend, the New Zealand and Beyond Holidays (NZABH) team explored the stunning region of Kaikōura, with the support of Destination Kaikōura and some truly inspiring tourism operators.
After landing in Christchurch, our fantastic guide from Christchurch Touring Company took us along the northeast coast of the South Island—past snowcapped mountains, coastal vineyards, and into the breathtaking Marlborough region. Trust us: this destination is even better than the photos!
🌌 In Kaikōura, we visited the eco-conscious EcoZip Kaikōura, who’ve recently launched an unforgettable Dark Sky evening tour—a must-do for any night-sky lover!
🥗 A quick bite at Café Encounter was followed by a briefing from amazing local operators like Encounter Kaikoura, offering both Dolphin Encounter and Albatross Encounter—yes, you can actually swim with dolphins! 🐬
🦭 For a unique wildlife experience, Kaikōura Kayaks offers an up-close view of the local sea lion colonies while keeping you warm and dry in full-body dry suits—perfect for winter.
🐋 Meanwhile, part of our group enjoyed an awe-inspiring whale encounter with Whale Watch Kaikōura, followed by a scenic aerial view of two S***m Whales with Wings Over Whales. Absolutely incredible!
🍸 To wrap up an already epic day, we visited Mt Fyffe Distillery for a locally crafted gin tasting, then settled in for the night at Manakau Lodge under a blanket of stars for the Star Grazing Experience—a magical end to Day 1.
🏨 Accommodation in Kaikōura offers something for everyone. We loved the sea views at both Sudima Kaikōura and the beachfront comfort of The White Morph.
