Hello everyone!
We hope you are staying safe and well.

We're so excited to announce that we are one of the recipients of the State Library of Victoria's Alchemy grant! This means we are working on a project to pitch something exciting and innovative to the library to help more people navigate the space and engage with the collections that the SLV has on display.

If you have a spare minute or two to help us out and complete a survey to assist with our research we would be so appreciative.

Here is a link to the anonymous survey

The last few months have been tough. Tough on small businesses, families, friends, butchers, bakers and selfie stick makers. With the latest lockdown protocols released today it’s about to get even tougher!

As Melburnians, we’re strong and we’ll help each other through this. Why not send your friend or even yourself, some local comforts we’ve all been missing? This list was put together by our Melbourne Guide team of all their favourite local small businesses.

What have our guides been reading in lockdown?

Astrid (and her cat pippy) have begun ‘Dark Emu’ by Bruce Pascoe, a book which re-examines colonial accounts of Indigenous Australians and explores the complex land management techniques of First Nations Peoples.

Andreas has been reading ‘The Australian Game of Football’, a book appropriately bound with an actual footy.

Dan is reading ‘Bearbrass; Imagining Early Melbourne’ by Robyn Annear which delves into the life of european colonists between 1835 and the onset of the gold rush.

Sam has been reading up on modern Melbourne with a guide called ‘Melbourne Precincts’ by Dale Campisi.
