There’s something truly magical about autumn in Japan 🍁

One of my favourite sights in Tokyo in November 2024 when researching sights for this year’s two 18-day “Autumn Jewels of Japan” bespoke trips was the breathtaking and popular gingko tree-lined street, Meiji Jingu Gaien Ginkgo Avenue. Beautifully pruned and changing from green to glowing in the most vivid golden yellow as the season changes to late autumn.

I’ve been lucky enough to enjoy a little piece of that magic at home too — my own young gingko bonsai I purchased upon returning home from that trip also recently turned to a lovely stunning shade of yellow this autumn. A small reminder of just how special this season is.

If experiencing Japan in its full autumn splendour is on your list, there’s still a few places left on the first departure of my 18-day “Autumn Jewels of Japan” journey this November 2026.

Think vibrant foliage, serene gardens, cultural treasures, and moments you’ll never forget.
