Scotland, you’ve stolen a little piece of my heart 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿❤️🙏

With only one day remaining, our road trip is nearing its end.

For the past few days we’ve been based in the peaceful village of Appin, venturing out on day trips to explore Port Appin, Oban, Fort William, Glencoe, Inveraray and the surrounding Highlands. The weather has been wet, wild, and wonderfully unpredictable, but somehow that only seems to add to the magic.✨

Scotland feels raw and rugged in the very best way. One moment the mountains disappear behind mist and rain, the next they’re glowing in sunshine. Every winding road, loch, castle, and tiny village seems to have a story to tell.

I did briefly consider climbing Ben Nevis (1,345m), the highest mountain in the UK… but despite spending time in Fort William, I never actually saw the mountain! It remained hidden behind cloud and rain for our entire visit!😂🏔️

In fact, my La Sportiva hiking boots haven’t even made it out of the boot bag this trip! 🥾🥾

I think I’ll save both the boots and Ben Nevis for another visit when Scotland decides to show me the view.

These final days have been slower, quieter, and exactly what we needed. Just Andi and me, soaking up the beauty of the Highlands, embracing the changing weather, and enjoying the simple joy of being together.❤️🫶❤️

As this incredible UK adventure draws to a close, I’m feeling grateful for the family, the friends, the laughter, the memories, and the places that have taken my breath away along the journey.🙏

Scotland and England, you’ve been absolutely unforgettable!
Thank you! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿💙🇬🇧

UK adventures continue 🇬🇧💙🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

It’s been a few days since my last post, and our road trip is now entering its final chapter.🇬🇧📖🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

After wonderful weeks filled with family, friends, celebrations, and exploring some incredible places, things have slowed down a notch. We’ve said goodbye to busy Edinburgh and have made our way to the quiet little town of Appin in the Scottish Highlands.

We’re now tucked away in a cosy cabin, surrounded by lush rolling hills, mesmerising lochs, and the kind of scenery that makes you stop and simply take it all in. The weather has certainly changed too - cold, wet, and rainy, a stark contrast to the sunshine and heatwave that welcomed us to England over two weeks ago! ☔️🇬🇧

For the next five days, it’s just Andi and me, slowing down, enjoying time together, and soaking up the beauty and tranquillity of the Scottish Highlands.❤️

Feeling very grateful for every moment of this adventure! 🙏🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿💚

UK adventures continue 🇬🇧💙🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Since my last post, a few wonderful days have passed, filled with a trip to the Lake District, celebrating Helen’s very special 50th birthday, and spending precious time with family.

Our cozy cottage in Preston was a beautifully converted old stable, surrounded by peaceful countryside, with roosters greeting the morning, squirrels darting through the gardens, and the sounds of sheep and cows never far away. It was the perfect place to slow down and enjoy quality time with the wonderful family I became part of when I married Andi last year. I feel very lucky to be making so many special memories together.🙏❤️

Yesterday we arrived in Edinburgh - and wow, what a city ✨🏰

Today was made even more special by catching up with a dear friend I hadn’t seen for 22 years. We shared lunch, wandered the beautiful streets, and finished the day on an incredible ghost tour… although I must admit, the underground section had me more than a little nervous - thanks Helen! 👻😱😂

Feeling very grateful for these moments, the people, and the memories we’re making along the way. 🙏❤️

Tomorrow, I’m excited to explore the incredible Edinburgh Castle! 🏰✨🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🇬🇧

Day 6 in the UK 🇬🇧💚

From the beautiful streets of Oxford to the rolling green hills of the Peak District, the last few days have been filled with beautiful strolls, cozy pubs, spectacular scenery, and quality time with family and friends ✨

We loved our little stay in Tideswell, spent time exploring Bakewell and the Peaks, before arriving in Preston to be with family. 💚

Today’s adventure: a day exploring the Lake District! 🌳🍃

48 hours in the UK 🇬🇧💚
Green lush paddocks, beautiful old Oxford streets, cozy pubs, staying with wonderful friends, and lots of socialising already ✨

And somehow… temperatures in the 30°Cs 😅

I genuinely thought the UK was meant to be cold, grey, and wet!

🇬🇧Let the UK adventures continue!

A different kind of adventure awaits ✈️💚

In just a few days we’ll be heading to the UK to spend time with family and friends, explore places I’ve never seen before, and collect beautiful memories together along the way.🫶❤️

For once, the itinerary doesn’t involve trekking poles, altitude, or climbing high mountains… although knowing me, I’ll probably still find a ‘hill’ somewhere 😂🏔️

So grateful for where we live (the best country in the world 🙏🇦🇺,
but excited for where we’re going.🇬🇧🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿
