Scotland, you’ve stolen a little piece of my heart 🏴❤️🙏
With only one day remaining, our road trip is nearing its end.
For the past few days we’ve been based in the peaceful village of Appin, venturing out on day trips to explore Port Appin, Oban, Fort William, Glencoe, Inveraray and the surrounding Highlands. The weather has been wet, wild, and wonderfully unpredictable, but somehow that only seems to add to the magic.✨
Scotland feels raw and rugged in the very best way. One moment the mountains disappear behind mist and rain, the next they’re glowing in sunshine. Every winding road, loch, castle, and tiny village seems to have a story to tell.
I did briefly consider climbing Ben Nevis (1,345m), the highest mountain in the UK… but despite spending time in Fort William, I never actually saw the mountain! It remained hidden behind cloud and rain for our entire visit!😂🏔️
In fact, my La Sportiva hiking boots haven’t even made it out of the boot bag this trip! 🥾🥾
I think I’ll save both the boots and Ben Nevis for another visit when Scotland decides to show me the view.
These final days have been slower, quieter, and exactly what we needed. Just Andi and me, soaking up the beauty of the Highlands, embracing the changing weather, and enjoying the simple joy of being together.❤️🫶❤️
As this incredible UK adventure draws to a close, I’m feeling grateful for the family, the friends, the laughter, the memories, and the places that have taken my breath away along the journey.🙏
Scotland and England, you’ve been absolutely unforgettable!
Thank you! 🏴💙🇬🇧
