What I love about the human forest is how connected, open and loving everyone feels after the event.

Touch allows people to soften and feel so nourished that they have a special radiance about them at the end of the night.

Also what comes to mind is how healing touch is. It goes beyonds words, where you can deeply relax the body and open the heart and soul.

What I love about the Forest is:
It’s a place to learn, play, experiment
Seeing myself and other open and grow
The feeling after a forest. It’s all mushy and syrupy. People are more open and warm

This whole trip has been... a trip. 🙃✨

I feel like since the moment I stepped on the plane two months ago I've passed through a portal.

On the other side, things move really, really fast. I haven't really been able to process all of the things that have passed because it feels like there's just so much driving me forward.

That's a good thing in many ways and yet it also feels as if parts of life have been left unaddressed. Important things that have been left unspoken.

So I want to honour them and share the things I can share with the people I care (That's you if you're reading this ❤️).

This will probably be a post shared in a couple of different parts... (Lots to share... 😅 )

I feel like starting with pride (This one is big! )

Anatolia H. Karteras and I did it- After 3 and a half years of running the The Human Forest Project, we finished our online training teaching others how to run the Human Forest too.

What started as a gathering of 20 or so people in our living room, somehow became an event we were running monthly at Centre of You, at Festivals with up to 80 or more people coming along regularly to our events.

This ritual and practice was life changing for people-
They found a community.
They found new and nourishing relationships.
They found a way to reconnect with and embody the lessons of Nature.

It's been awe inspiring.

We didn't think we'd get this far, but now that we're here, we have a dream.

We choose for Forests to be available to people all over the world.
We choose for every community to have access to the touch they need.
We choose for this event to help reestablish a loving, nourishing relationship with nature.

And for that we need facilitators who can safely hold this experience with presence, love and wisdom.

This course has already been live for the past month and a half. We have already started training facilitators in Adelaide, the Gold Coast and the Sunny Coast, but we're ready for it to be shared far and wide.

For that we need your help.

If you feel the call to host the Forest or know others who have attended Forests and would be amazing facilitators, please engage, comment and share this post far and wide.
This work is so important and would mean a lot to receive your help.

Anatolia H. Karteras and I are deeply proud of this course and we know you'll love it too.

The gates are open. The Forest beckons. 🌿🌳

"Soul returns to the world when we attend to the rhythm of nature, when we nourish our friendships with time and attention and in our daily participation with repairing the world."

Fellow humans, here are words by Francis Weller, a griefworker, who reminds us all of the responsibility we have as citizens of this earth to feel a wild intimacy with ourselves, with each other and with our natural world.

I've found it hard at times to connect with others. I tend to retreat into my shell. Being branded an 'introvert' means I spend a lot more time in my inner world than others (like Mister Extrovert Patrick-ha!).

It's been a difficult journey where many times I've really needed to nourish my inner realm but others have taken offence- as if I've suddenly disappeared without warning.

For many years I went numb, as the quote says and I would push myself in social situations- I put on masks and I became confused about who I should be in different situations. It was truly exhausting.

And I still forget (good ol' amnesia) that I am part of a thriving ecosystem of life.

The deeper I work with the concepts of the Human Fores, the more I really can see how it is a framework for having an embodied knowing that we each belong. We can all be held as we are. We are part of something greater, even in times of depression or anxiety where we can't see the 'forest for the trees'.

The above quote by good ol' Paolo Coelho (the author of the best-selling 'The Alchemist) may sound like a cliché, but clichés become what they are because they hold a ring of truth.

You ARE unique.

You DO have a collection of skills, experiences, stories, and talents that, when combined, are completely unique to you.

You also have a personality that has its own individual expression.

We celebrate these points of difference because they are what have made our Human Forest ecosystems so incredibly 'biodiverse'.

No two facilitators are the same, no two participants are the same, and no two Forests will ever be the same.

Deeply knowing that however weird and awkward we are, however smelly and uncouth, however desperate and shy, everyone plays a part in the ecosystem of a Human Forest.

At some point in our lives we are all self critical. A part of the work of the Human Forest is to keep showing up for the touch, the presence, the feelings inside us and over time all the riff raff of the mind telling tales of imperfection shift, or better yet, our relationship to them changes. We realise that our unique way of looking, smelling, speaking when we are humbly open and present is perfect.

We welcome diversity in the Human Forest organism. From our facilitators who we train to find their own unique magic, to our participants who we welcome in all their shapes, mindsets, smells, clothes and beliefs.

Come one come all (as long as you want to give and receive touch!)

One day when you wake up, you will find that you have become a forest.
You have grown roots and found strength in them that no one thought you had.
You have become stronger and more beautiful, full of life giving qualities.
You have learned to take all the negativity around you and turn it into oxygen for easy breathing.
A host of wild creatures live inside you and you call them stories.
A variety of beautiful birds rest inside your mind and you call them memories.
You have become an incredible self sustaining thing of epic proportions.
And you should be so proud of yourself, of how far you have come from the seeds of who you used to be.
