If you love your morning coffee, Vietnam might just change the way you drink it ☕

Coffee here is slow, strong and often sweet, served at tiny street-side cafés where locals linger for hours. Our favourites are egg coffee 🥚, a Hanoi creation from the 1940s with a rich, whipped egg-and-condensed-milk topping; coconut coffee 🥥, blended with coconut cream and ice; and the classic cà phê sữa đá, dripped through a phin filter and poured over ice.

Tip: ask for “ít ngọt” if you’d like yours a little less sweet.

Wondering what’s included in our Vietnam Culinary Tour? Just about everything!

From 14–25 August 2027, Bec will es**rt the group from Hanoi to the Mekong Delta, and we’ve taken care of the details so you can focus on the food.

Your journey includes 11 nights’ accommodation in boutique hotels, plus a night aboard a Hạ Long Bay cruise. There are four food experiences: guided street-food tours in Hanoi and Huế, the Papa’s Cooking & Fishing Life tour in Hội An, and a cooking class at the Culinary Art Centre in Ho Chi Minh City. Pack your appetite, because our Vietnam Culinary Tour is officially here!

From 14–25 August 2027, this es**rted journey takes you from Hanoi all the way to the Mekong Delta, with Bec travelling alongside the group the whole way.
Over 12 days you’ll line up with locals for phở in Hanoi’s Old Quarter, finish a street-food walk with Vietnamese egg coffee, and spend a night cruising among the limestone islands of Hạ Long Bay. In Huế, you’ll try the city’s famous bún bò Huế and learn to make bánh khoái on a twilight food tour through the old Citadel. In Hội An, you’ll shop the local market, cast a fishing net, paddle a bamboo basket boat and cook lunch as one of the family, then end the evening releasing lanterns on the river. The journey finishes in Ho Chi Minh City with a cooking class and a day exploring the Mekong Delta by boat and sampan.

Accommodation, private guides, transfers, food tours and cooking classes are all taken care of, so you can simply enjoy every bite.

Vietnam, region by region: why the food changes every few hundred kilometres!

Head north and you’ll find bold, balanced flavours, like a steaming bowl of pho or bun cha in Hanoi. Travel to the centre and the food becomes more delicate and precise, a legacy of the royal kitchens of Hue. By the time you reach the south, the Mekong Delta brings sweeter, fresher dishes full of herbs, fruit and seafood.

It’s one of our favourite things about travelling through Vietnam, because no two regions taste the same. 😊

Ever wondered what the difference actually is between a small group tour and a large group tour? It comes down to more than just numbers- though the numbers matter too.

Small group tours usually cap around 12–16 travellers, while large group tours can run 40 or more, often split across multiple coaches. That difference shapes the whole trip: more time in each place, fewer rushed stops, and access to spots a big tour bus simply can't reach; a family-run vineyard, a chef's home kitchen, a guesthouse with only 10 rooms.

You'll usually also have one guide with you for the entire journey on a small group tour, plus transport that's sized to the group rather than a standard tour coach.

What's typically included either way? Accommodation, transport between destinations, a dedicated tour leader, and entry fees to key sites. Meals vary a lot by operator, so it's always worth checking exactly what's covered before you book.

At the end of the day, it comes down to the kind of traveller you are. Some people love the energy of a bigger group, others want the intimacy only a small group can offer.
