This one needed more than a fresh coat of stain.

The existing decking boards were heavily rotted, so we pulled them up, cleaned up the frame and added joist tape before laying the new boards.

Finished off with a fresh stain, and the deck is ready for plenty more years of use.

Sanding back an existing timber floor removes years of wear, old coatings and surface damage, giving us a clean base to work from again.

A lot of older timber floors still have plenty of life left in them. Before replacing yours, it’s worth finding out what can be restored.

Removing walls during a renovation can leave more behind than just an open space.

This floor had two large voids where walls had previously been removed, along with an older orange finish that was dating the whole area.

Rather than simply patching the gaps, we removed sections of the existing flooring and installed full-length replacement boards to keep the original pattern flowing properly through the room.

Once the repairs were complete, the entire floor was sanded, stained and polished to bring everything together.

If you’ve got an older timber floor with damaged sections, old repairs or areas left behind after a renovation, it may be worth restoring before considering replacement.

The character, the details and the history you just don’t get with a new build. It’s always nice to be able to work on these beautiful old houses and help bring parts of them back to life.

For this one, we sanded the existing timber decking right back and gave it a fresh stain, bringing the timber back to life while keeping the character of the home.
