The 5 million or so Melburnians may be under lockdown again for a few more weeks, at a cost to the economy of about $100 million every day. But we soldier on. This is still one of the world's most liveable cities. We have more cranes on our skyline than ever before with some incredible new buildings due to be finished faster than before due to the construction industry continuing to operate during the virus' spread. And just look at this view... very few cities can compete with the likes of this.

If you're into gaming, this new place in the Emporium mall might be worth checking out

2,700 square metres of real estate in Melbourne's CBD. Inside is a themed restaurant and bar for a few hundred people. Two dedicated PC gaming areas are connected, with arcade machines and a 200-seater esports grandstand. Attached to that is a second bar, full broadcast studio and an esports comment...

Today is the 45th anniversary of the Skylab strike, the first labor strike to occur in space. Astronauts protested micromanagement, employer spying, and long hours. They demanded a day off, regular breaks, and greater workplace autonomy, but NASA refused. So they shut off the radio and took the day off, floating around, enjoying space, and taking photos of Earth. NASA gave in to their demands after one day.
