Foxes are believed to be the messengers and servants of Inari, the Shinto god of:
• Prosperity & success

The Great Buddha of Kamakura is one of Japan’s most iconic landmarks and a must-see when visiting Tokyo or Kamakura. Unusually, the massive bronze statue stands outdoors and has withstood earthquakes, tsunamis, and severe storms for more than 750 years. The temple hall that once sheltered it was destroyed in the 15th century, leaving the statue standing alone.
