Once upon a time, long before the reindeer learned to fly and before the elves built their first toy, Santa was simply a young fellow with bright eyes, a warm laugh, and a sleigh that ran on pedal-power rather than magic.

Back then, Santa didn’t soar through the sky. He glided along the streets, wheels humming softly beneath him. Couples climbed aboard with curious smiles, children giggled with delight and families snuggled close with their loved ones as Santa whisked them through twinkling avenues and lamplit pathways.

Down along Southbank he pedalled — steady and sure — weaving through hidden alleys and beside the glowing Yarra, where the city’s reflections danced on the water like fairy lights.

Over the years, the story changed. Mrs. Claus arrived, the workshop bustled to life, reindeer took their places, and Santa grew into the round, rosy figure we’ve come to adore. But every December, a whisper of that earlier Santa returns — the one who travelled by heart, by pedals, and by the simple joy of being close to the people he delighted.

And so, for the fourth magical season, Santa awaits, inviting you to hop aboard his sleigh-on-wheels for a unique ride through Melbourne’s Christmas lights and festive displays.

Find Santa at Queensbridge Square in Southbank, ready to take you on a fun, festive journey through the illuminated city — an experience to share, remember, and pass on.

🎄 Choose Your Ride:
From $35, varying by number of passengers and where the story takes you:
$35 — Southbank Cruise
$55 — Yarra River Circuit
$110 — City Circuit (a full chapter of wonder)

✨Tips are welcome and always received with gratitude and a twinkle in the eye.
✨Cash preferred. Fees apply for electronic transfers.
✨Bookings not necessary.
✨Rides begin and end at Queensbridge Square. Large groups welcome as Santa has other friends riding their own elf sleighs.
