NOW HIRING — TOUR GUIDE

Adelaide River Cruises | Middle Point NT

This isn't a job you'll find anywhere else in the world.

Adelaide River Cruises is looking for a passionate, reliable tour guide to join our small crew on the Adelaide River floodplain — home to Dominator, Brutus, and some of the largest wild saltwater crocodiles ever recorded.

You'll be working on the water daily, introducing guests from around the world to one of the most extraordinary wildlife encounters in Australia. If you're a genuine Top End local who loves this country and knows how to read a crowd, we want to hear from you.

THE ROLE:
Jumping Crocodile Tour Guide — Adelaide River Cruises
📍 End of Anzac Parade, Middle Point NT
🗓 Up to 38 hours/week during the Dry Season
⛅ Ongoing wet season work available, weather dependent

YOU MUST HAVE:
Previous tour guide experience in the NT
Current Coxswain certificate — or genuine willingness to obtain one
Current First Aid certificate
Reliable transport to Middle Point

HIGHLY REGARDED:
Previous experience working with crocodiles or reptiles
Kakadu or Top End wildlife tour guiding background

WHAT YOU GET:
One of a very small number of licensed roles in Australia that involves building real working relationships with wild estuarine crocodiles — this is genuinely rare
Above industry award pay rate
Free tours for family and friends (within reason — we're not running a shuttle service 😄)
Tourism industry perks — inter-operator experiences and partnerships across the Top End.

TO APPLY

Send us a message via Facebook or email [email protected] with:

- A brief intro about yourself
- Your relevant experience
- Your current certificates
- Why this role appeals to you

We're a small, tight crew. Culture fit matters as much as the CV. If you're serious about the NT, serious about wildlife, and can read a crowd get in touch.

Here’s your cheeky reminder to stay well back from water edges & bodies in the Top End! It’s heating up, with the mating season on the way, Crocs are after more calories – and you need oxygen! Let's all look out for each other, remind someone if you see them risking it.🐊 Stay Crocwise in Croc country!

Alright Team, you asked and we were curious as well.

The little Croc has survived and is looking healthy, all things considered.

Crocodiles have an amazing capacity for survival, they are extremely resilient and are even able to fight off infection and other pathogens thanks to their blood which contains powerful antimicrobial peptides.

While this limb obviously won't regenerate, it should heal over nicely and this croc will continue to thrive in the river.

Dominator:

The local legend! 🐊💪
At 6 meters and approx 1000 kg, this big bloke rules the waterways. Did you know? Aussie salties like Dominator have the strongest bite in the animal kingdom—over 3,700 PSI! Talk about jaw power! 🇦🇺🌊

Did you know Australian Saltwater Crocs are equipped with about 66 teeth, designed for their hefty bite? But here's where it gets even gnarlier - thanks to a process called polyphyodonty, these Crocs can grow new teeth to replace the old ones throughout their lives.
