Increased Australian plague locust activity may occur this spring and summer due to favourable seasonal conditions.

To help eligible producers manage the risk, PIRSA is offering financial assistance through the Australian Plague Locust Chemical Rebate 2026.

✅ Rebates for approved locust control products used between 1 September and 31 December 2026
✅ Up to $35 per hectare sprayed (excluding GST), including delivery costs
✅ Available to eligible landowners, sharefarmers and lessees in designated areas of South Australia

Early control can help reduce impacts on your property, neighbouring farms and agricultural production across the region.

Applications through the myPIRSA portal will open soon. Register your interest to receive an alert when applications open and stay up to date with eligibility requirements and program updates.
