Devils Slide Walk in the Porongurup National Park promises a memorable hiking experience, combining physical challenge with the natural splendour 🥾

Devils Slide is a challenging 5 km (return) Grade 4 hike, expect rough surfaces and some steeper sections. Allow approximately 2.5 hours to complete the walk.

This trail leads you to the summit of Devils Slide, which is the highest peak in the Porongurup sitting proudly at 670 meters.

Be rewarded with sweeping views that can stretch south to the Indian Ocean on a clear day and north to the Stirling Ranges.

I was asked about my homemade Mayo recipe so if anyone is interested here it is:
Made from scratch so you know what’s in it, and off the top of my head it’s that’s easy.

HOMEMADE OLIVE OIL MAYO
Takes 5 mins to make.

Wide top jar to fit stick blender.
Put all ingredients in a jar.
Olive oil must go in last so it sits on top (this saves having to dribble the oil in slowly to get it to emulisify).

1. Add Two small eggs or one large egg at room temperature
2. Add 1 TBSPN of the following and adjust to taste - Dijon mustard, apple cider vinegar.
3. Add 1 TSPN of dried dill, garlic powder (if you like garlic), salt to taste.
4. Add LAST 1 cup mild olive oil (or it’s very strong flavour) (you can use macadamia oil but it’s more expensive, both taste good).
5. Put stick blender into the jar with ingredients as listed above and blend WITHOUT taking the blender out of the mixture so it goes thick and creamy. This is the important bit as it may not work if you pull it out into the air whilst blending. Takes a couple minutes.
Works every time.
Sometimes I add a little more vinegar after it’s thickened for more flavour.
You can add Lemon juice too.
When I made it the other way dribbling in slowly sometimes it didn’t thicken but this way works well and quickly.
